         Sowerby    Couchane

Interesting that everyone is going for Eaves without ever seeing him play for the Cobblers. I liked him a lot when he played for Gillingham and I hope he can reproduce that form but surely it is yet to be proven.

Who is Martin?  Huh

Sorry, I meant Wilson. Wasn't it obvious?  Grin Easy to mix up such similar surnames.

Eaves looked reasonable against Brackley.

Gives you an idea of what the general fan base think of our other strikers…

It's what people perceive a player to offer. Same as the transfer rumour thread where people state this or that player should be a great signing, probably never seen them play or if they did it was once a couple of years ago. Eaves is still in that bracket.  People try to look for a positive in a player when they are new. You Mysterious always look for the doom and gloom.

Interesting thoughts above, its good everybody can have an opinion this is what here is for!

My thinking would be Sowerby is  one of our most important players, absolutely key for ball retention

I would have to find a way of getting Hoskins in the team as he has proven he can score goals at this level whether people like it or not

Also McGowan and Willis are must starts to me

Judging off the Wycombe at home defence, the bristol rovers goal they both wasnt on pitch, the 2 barnsley goals 1st goal came down our LB, 2nd was a mistake when willis wasnt on pitch also, easy to forget we were in the bottom 4 last season 15 games in until they both started there first games… playing next to eachother and we ended up finising 12/13th?

As i say great we can all have our voices on this platform, every opinion is subjective of course!

I only deal in FACTS, Hoskins only scorning one goal since JANUARY is a FACT, it isn’t subjective.

After all that manwork i like the way you never went against the Willis Sowerby McGowan argument's as they are FACTS (check for yourself)

What is also a fact is that i agree with what your saying but its a tough one as he finished 6th highest goal scorer in division last season with 15 goals, i have hope he will find form again soon

Not subjective, but carefully selected to suit your anti-Hoskins agenda. Hoskins has been the club's top goalscorer for the last 2 seasons. That is also a fact (and suits my agenda, because I want him in the team). In the end you can choose your statistics to suit your argument, and they will still be facts.

Gord knows what our strongest team (or approach to a game) would be but here's my attempt - if I had one game to get a result or be fired!

                      Burge

Odimayo  Guthrie  Baldwin  Mbete

          Sowerby     Sammy C
                McGeeghan

      Hoskins     Eaves    Pinnock

I think its fair to say that the defence is a bit subjective, the midfield does pick itself but the forwards - none of us have a scooby! Not just about who starts but how you use the subs.

Once I see Roberts I may well shoehorn him in for either Pinnock or Hoskins, and once I see a bit more of Fosus, likewise. BUT. Fosu (on early viewing) looks like the perfect impact player to me. Much more 'that type of player' than say Pinnock is. So so hard to say.

You've then got McCaron who looked really good coming off the bench v Burton and even more so versus Barnsley. Coupled with his showing in pre-season. You cant rule him out being a regular starter very soon.

The Vicar could also develop quickly once he settles in giving the midfield incuments a nice little kick from behind.

Im also being really unfair on Morton who has been our liveliest forward so far.

There's a two week break, maybe they're making the most of it?

I would have thought they would be better training, getting fitter and working on free kicks, patterns of play etc
The life of a modern day footballer eh…..

I dont know whats wrong with them, they get the summer off as it is.
