As a team we defend excellently but my main concern was illustrated by our inability in the first 30 minutes of the second half, with the wind, to create and get shots on target!
When was the last game when an opposing goalkeeper got MOM?...............months or years?
It’s a genuine concern of mine that the team is not creative enough and can’t sustain pressure. Still I’m sure good old Jon will sort it!

As mentioned, very poor game but conditions made it a bit of lottery. Defensively pretty sound with Guthrie a rock as usual. If he "picks up a knock" and is out for any length of time we'll be significantly weakened in that department with no one remotely close to his consistency. Hoskins had a couple of chances first half he probably should have done better with, will he ever score again? Glad to see Roberts complete the game, although not his best game, always a chance of him doing something special. Will he ever score? Chouchane about the same as usual, definately a player in there somewhere, we just haven't really seen it yet. About time Pinnock got subbed, needs a kick up the arse and Fosu again tries to beat too many players and consistently loses the ball. Good to see Eaves back who certainly made a difference. With the players we've got and despite the injuries, we should be beating teams like this. Another game against a team below us on Tuesday, who are possibly in a false position and picked up a good away win yesterday. Hopefully we can turn some of our chances into goals.

Better than a loss but if we don't beat Blackpool or Cambridge you have to wonder where the next win is coming from.
Wigan. Without a doubt.

As for Hoskins and his reaction at being substituted. Why the surprise, he always reacts in the same way. I'd have thought fans would be used to it by now.
I've always wondered how he gets away with acting like a petulant child when he's taken off. I'd put it down to him being critical of his own performance rather than mugging the manager off.

Well, if you're talking about yesterday, there were the two Hoskins chances I mentioned, the second he probably should have squared it to Pinnock but he was never going to do that, Guthrie had a couple, one of which, he said himself he should have done better. A couple of times the goalie blocked shots and it rebounded out but as usual never anyone running in for such eventualities and several times towards the end it pinballed around the area close to goal but no one gets on the end of it. There were probably a few more but that's enough to be going on with.

Roberts didn’t complete the game. You obviously nodded off for a while, which is totally understandable

He definitely did and I thought he was really good. He has a class about him that we don't see often but his work rate was excellent too. With players like that who are playing below their natural level it would be easy to go head down, esp on a horrible day like yesterday when you aren't having any joy in front of goal. But he didn't stop and showed a better attitude than others.

Apology accepted, although I must admit I do remember nodding off once in the Moyes End at Peterborough many moons ago when it was a terrace. Something to do with alcohol.

A minor thought;
When Fosu came on I immediately assumed he'd be taking up an attacking role but instead he appeared to be covering a relatively defensive left sided midfield position (at the end of the match he did appear to be attempting to create something in the final third). I'd ask him to stay up front when Cambridge were piling on the pressure as it would have engaged their defenders (pulled them back out) and if anyone was going to be able to break away with the ball and out flank their central defenders (one was extremely slow on the turn) Fosu would be that man.

Never understand not leaving someone up at corners.

I don't like our policy of bringing all 11 men back to defend corners and free kicks because when we have to make a hurried clearance the opposition immediately regain possession and come back at us.

I remember Mr Atkins was quite adamant that he wanted everyone back and wasn't going to change his mind for anyone.

Since I had a lens replacement in right eye, my eye sight has got better particularly distance sight. Was close enough to witness the scenario you describe which for me you exagerate to the point of classic inaccuracy. Perhaps you were right to suggest a partial imperfect performance but you do no favours by hinting at a potential mugging off of the Manager. He will come good again much to the disappointment of his detractors.

He at least lasted long enough! Are those Ladies gymshoes you depict? In spite of my recent spell in hospital I stayed awake hoping for a winner.

Don't want to fall out with you Evers, but you're making no sense whilst talking bollox at the same time. And if you were in NGH eye department on Thursday pm, that might have been me you were sat next to in the waiting room

I'm not convinced he's fully fit. He didn't try to beat the full back for pace at any point. More frustratingly though, he keeps trying to be too clever recently and has nearly cost us a breakaway goal twice in the last few games. It's frustrating. because he beats his man and gets in a good position and rather than passing the ball, he tries to beat another and ends up losing it, often in a dangerous position.
