Good. Something that was common knowledge to everyone apart from this seemingly niche group of society, who either had their heads buried in the sand or are lying. I appreciate that some of these women of a certain age (credit Gregg) were busy changing nappies, whilst their fella was putting food on the table. The 2024 version would be in Costa or Senior management roles. On the plus side, if they work until 65 (like the poor old other gender) then they will be quids in by the time the pension kicks in. In the days of equality I just find it staggering and common sense has prevailed. Anyway, I am in total shock that I have just found out my state pension age has shifted to 67.

I agree load of old bollocks - the original communication on increasing the state pension age for woman was made in 1995, phased in at 63 years in 2016 and parity with men in 2018 - to suggest communication was poor or they did not know with a 20 plus year notice does not make a strong case. Also given age expectancy of woman over men it definitely needed an overhaul. However (and this will please Manny) Labour again shot itself in the foot in trying to win votes by supporting the cause pre-election but returning to common sense when in power - don't promise what you have no intention of delivering as people have long memories.

Yes, I was born in October 1960 but didn't understand the odd seven months?

To save money allegedly. I was born in July 1960 and have a 4 month delay before it pays out.

Born Mid August 1960, can draw state pension from Mid January 2027 - precisely 66 years and 5 months from birth.
You do not get your State Pension automatically - you have to claim it. You should get a letter no later than 2 months before you reach State Pension age, telling you what to do. Make sure the Tax Authorities have your correct address.
I was managing or actually preparing payrolls from about 1987 to 2010 approximately (and have broadly kept up to date with legislation post that date) and can confirm that this WASPI issue was well known (and privately thought, some of us have to keep going til 65 to draw the pension).
PS At one time men were expected to live to 69 and women to 75 (it's quite a bit higher for both now) so men were only expected to draw 4 years state pension whilst women were expected to draw 15 years state pension.

Exactly that - if you have a biased allegiance you will only see one side - if you are capable of more rational analysis you will see pretty much the same across the entire political spectrum.

Ignoring their bullsh1t pre-election 'promises/pledges', do you think they made the right decision in not supporting them?
