They (Stevenage) have to continue to drop down the table on that evidence.

I thought it was a decent game with both teams trying to play through midfield without too much hit and hope hoofball. It could have gone either way, but it didn't look like either team had much going forward. I'm not saying Fosu and Hoskins had great games but the tempo picked up when they came on. Mitch and McGowan both had good games.

Said before the game, thank god Guthrie has remained fit...bloody typical! Still, a great point considering how ridiculously depleted we are...
Even though he's had limited time on the training pitch, KN has already given us an identity... Not fannying around at the back, go long and play in their final third...
Until the Guthrie, thought we would go on to win but nevertheless cannot fault their effort today...
Probably won't get any new additions in before the Burton game unfortunately but you never know...
We are all saying new additions required BEFORE we lost McGeehan, NGW & now Guthrie... I think Tomlinson will be recalled but I believe Dyche is also injured at Woking!
Hopefully, everyone can see KN is working with the most depleted squad imaginable, so will give him some slack should results not instantly pick up.

When Eaves was a younger man he would have buried that glorious run and cross by Hoskins. Sadly. although still capable of a goal or two he has lost that ounce of mobility to get on the end of opportunities like that. Fosu almost scored with a classy piece of play when he shot just wide with an attempted curler to the far post.

. Sandwiched between The Gas and The Posh though.
If you'd told me that at the start of the season, you'd think it would be a pretty good one so far.

Good solid performances. But somebody please tell Eaves to get the ball under control before starting his next move.

I said in the first half we just lacked a bit of quality / cutting edge to us going forward, we got that when Fosu came on but clearly he wasn't fit enough as he didn't look like he was moving too freely after that curling shot.
Not a bad performance and going in the right direction just hope Guthrie isn't out for too long or someone else is back at CB soon as Willis although he did nothing wrong was clearly not fully fit and doubt he would have played ( same as Fosu ) had Mcgeehan and NGW been fit.

A for effort, Super Kev is doing a decent job motivating the boys, we deserved to win that, my MOTM Pinnock😵
Apart from odd flashes of excellence Pinnock has been below average at best this season, so I don’t know where that performance came from. He was top draw.

Let me make one thing absolutely clear, the Trust “advisor” is not god. Are you going to tell him or shall I?

We were so much the better team in the first half as Stevenage created next to nothing and Pinnock and McGowan were excellent on the right flank. We also made some very good long passes switching play from one side of the pitch to the other which were impressively brought under immediate control. Chouchane and Hondermarck had better games than of late and all that was missing was a goal. Stevenage came more into the game in the second half and had a succession of corners which we managed to deal with but usually they came back at us as we had left nobody up the pitch to clear the ball to. Defensively we were quite comfortable but neither keeper had to produce an outstanding save but I thought Tzanev also had a better game. Came away thinking it was 2 points dropped rather than a point gained.

Stevenage showed a remarkable lack of enterprise but having said that I can see why they’ve only conceded 3 goals away from home all season. Probably a point gained for NTFC and I’d say two dropped for them on the basis that they were at or very near full strength.

I think we desperately needed that clean sheet - but it's hard work getting motivated for Burton away this weekend after weeks of truly dreadful football!
I thought Hondermarck potentially had his best League One performance for us against Stevenage. I've been having a few doubts whether he was upto the level or needed a L2 loan move having showed early promise. Hopefully a change in manager or playing style might kick start his Cobblers career. Pinnock also looked much improved thankfully. Eaves always looks like he needs a Callum Morton type playing next to him.

It's telling that when Drysdale is announced as a ref for your games there's a collective groan.
He consistently gets decisions wrong, he's officious, card-happy and, worst of all, likes to make himself the centre of attention. Did you see the way he struck a pose as he awarded that decision against Hondermarck on the edge of the area? Ridiculous. The man is a buffoon.
I always think a good ref is like a good centre-back; when they are having a good game you scarcely notice them.
You always notice Darren Drysdale.
Absolutely- he seemed to delight in giving decisions the opposite way 5000 plus saw it - as if to say I know better and want to be centre stage - not to show at least a yellow for that two footed tackle was disgraceful and deserved the outrage from the bench.
