It’s about the only time we get the ball into the box lately  Grin

I remember this and being shocked because prior to this I couldnt remember a single time it had been successful. Watching the game back and Jake Sharpe commented the same thing.

Nothing wrong with a long throw and based upon those with whom Nolan has spent most time around in his career, Allardyce and Moyes you can imagine balls into the box at every opportunity is going to be his mantra.

The issue being that Pinnock dosnt really have a long throw, I mean its not to feet but its not exactly a launch and we dont seem to really overload the front post to win the initial flick, which more often than not we dont.

Nothing wrong with it as a tactic in theory, but its not exactly Tozer distance is it?

everyone knows what arsenal are going to do every single time with their corners - but people still cant stop it

Everyone knew what Michael Jacobs was going to do every single time with his corners,  fail to get past the near post, but he still persisted with the same format. Sometimes its just crying out for a bit of mix n match.

Eeerrrrrrrrrrrmmmmm. Because it doesn't ever work.

I am surprised that some have forgotten Hoskins goal at Tranmere which resulted in a goal; from a Pinnock throw. The defender got a head to it but his poor clearance fell to the great man and whhooosh ……….. a  terrific half volley.

A memorable moment, but probably the only time something has come from a Pinnock long throw. The facts show it's not very effective. I don't have the stats, but Pinnock must put in an average of at least 3 long throws per match, which makes well over 100 by now, so it's clearly ineffective. It's not only that we don't score from them but we rarely even threaten the goal. The fact that he continues to do it suggest that JB (and perhaps now KN) still think it's our best option. I don't agree. We need to mix it up much more. Pretty much any other plan must be at least equally effective.

If we have a long throw expert available use him.Pinnock has had a few better games recently and if he plays well we generally get a point or two . That goal he scored against Brum makes him a hero for me. Was there and so where many others.

Were you? Wow, that's a surprise. You never mentioned that you go to away games. You should. Maybe they'll give you a medal?

Managers like Bowen and Wilder* are rare to come by! Whether we like it or not Jon Brady is the only recent Manager who can possibly follow in their* footstops!

We should stick with him, as at the moment he is our only hope of survival as a EFL Club!

True supporters like Evers don’t desire medals they go home and often away for the love of the club and don’t join in with any negativity.

And most people happy to contribute to any cause don't feel the necessity to tell everybody that they contribute at every opportunity.

Hoskins’ goal in the Tranmere game that secured our promotion actually came from a Pinnock corner, not a throw (sorry)! I’ve just re-watched it. A fine goal it was, but no throw-in involved.

I have just been watching Wrexham v Birmingham and Leonard played the whole match, so he's going nowhere. How the hell Birmingham got a point is another matter, they were dreadful second half.

The corner was a disaster it was easily cleared but came back Pinnock who floated an up and under which was miscued by a defender .....so there Wink

You'd think a "true supporter" would recall such an important incident vividly.

Well I think you have missed the point ........again!!
Which is I never go but instead watch from the safety of a heated leather couch in a warm room aided by central heating with double glazing; which you fiercely defend on the basis of; that TV or even highlights you dont miss a thing .......as if and who are you kidding? More than likely on HMP trip to Aussie! Whereas I sit or stand with the lads in wet, windy conditions combined with frost, snow storms supporting my boyhood heroes. Even in 'doubtful' good health I still hope to watch them soon enough in the Championship or better! So put that in your pipe and smoke it!

This thread is about Pinnocks long throw. What the f*** has that got to do with your support, at Birmingham or anywhere else? Self praise is worthless.

Note: Less than a quarter of 1% of the population of Northampton think it worthwhile to regularly travel to away games.  You are in a tiny, tiny minority.
