Joey is back in court today charged with knocking his wife to the ground and kicking her in the head in a drunken rage. Previously when the case came to court she refused to give evidence against him and the case was adjourned but the CPS have decided that that have enough evidence without her.
I believe this is in line with CPS guidelines - so many domestic violence cases don't go anywhere because the victim is often coerced into not wanting to follow through with a prosecution, so they now say that as long as there is enough evidence they will push ahead regardless of the victim's stated preferences.
