The Cannon in Wellingbollocks. Quality pub with Bernie brewing his own beer back in the day (1990s). (Very) surprisingly met my wife in there. And Paul from the Indies bus, we we aren't romantically involved, except passing conversations on northern away games.
Network on a Wednesday night.

A mate was turned away from the Lupus, wrong colour apparently
Not sure why. It wasn't a regular of mine, but I went in several times with a fellow biker who was definitely not white.

I never went there, but it was the talk of the social circles I moved in at the time

Panache opposite the library on Abington St NBs is in Bridge St just down from the old Angel Hotel Stirlings is on the corner of Gold St and College St. Funfact: it was called Stirlings on account of it being where an RAF Stirling bomber crashed during the war. https://www.northantslive.news/news/history/story-ww2-stirling-plane-crashed-5359959

I didn’t know that. The irony of me crashing and burning with the missus is quite poignant then?

Let me make one thing absolutely clear, the Trust “advisor” is not god. Are you going to tell him or shall I?

Who remembers Opus 2 in Bridge Street? I vaguely remember blowing the chicks minds by doing the Hot Shoe Shuffle to Haircut 100s Favourite Shirts in there.

While we’re at it Circles in Regent Street was a bit of a New Romantic haunt back in the day. All Steve Strange and To Cut a Long Story Short. I also remember Friday Nights at some place out in Blisworth but I can’t remember the name of the place but it was epic.

Also, if I remember right Panache used to be called PJs. It was contemporary stuff upstairs and Motown downstairs. We used to go to The Pioneer, Five Bells/or Elephant and then in there for 3 or 4 years straight on a Saturday. It seems an amazing place now, but was probably shít at the time.

Didn't it become The Lounge or something after Panache? Still three floors with a different style of music on each floor. I used to go in there when I was at uni.

Makes sense about Stirlings when you think. I also remember one floor was a piano bar, guy tinkling the ivories gamely but you couldn't hear him over the din of people talking. In my "bi" era I met a girl there way above my league who looked like Scary Spice. think she was the first girl actually said I wasn't straight to... Wow we had some fun and in THAT sense too! First time I've ever had .... ... and first time someone ever ...... me And as for when her other bi friend turned up... I digress, Going right back there was a bar in the Plough Hotel called Blazers used to play a lot of pretty obscure music, I don't remember it being too alternative I do remember they played stuff like this, anyone remember it? https://youtu.be/GqctFZgeEco?si=4MAF_hAyJzkoH9oC

Secretly I'm waiting for Manny to reveal where he used to hang out in between rallies and demonstrations. I believe that Cinderella's door policy was tie, no trainers and no black shirts.

Railway Hotel at Blisworth, Back in the 70's they used to have some really good bands on there, it was run by Big Bob Knight the landlord of the Nags Head in Wollaston, where loads of top bands played
