We may not have had a second shot on target but lets be honest, young Perry, who I thought had an excellent game, should have scored from his chance, harder to miss.

exactly, should have scored - 2-0 and the game is dead

So i did go last night,
my Thoughts...

First of all had a change of scenery and got what turned out to be a padded seat in the LCS Stand J104 and around it for those who want to book in future.
So despite the stand being dark and not ready imho it looks amazing.
What did look a bit sh!t was the West Stand, all in all it's a bit bland and featureless - no inference to it's occupants last night  Smiley

Well we matched them didn't we? No matter what that Stockport fan said about them being terrible, maybe WE were the reason they were terrible.

Burge had a decent game.
The rather surprising back three were excellent i thought. Dyche mixed it well with the lump that is Cosgrove. I'm guessing Ak and NGW are there for some pace?
Our most in effective players were Hoskins and Pinnock last night.
Terry Taylor is class, what a footballer near to Leonard standards I reckon.
Was a bit worried about Perry but he did really well, not scared to mix it is he? One to consider for next season as well I think.
Fosu caused them a few problems, and McGeehan put in a shift.
But Costelloe what a player he is, never gives the opposition a minute does he? Runs at them, scraps with them, niggles them, brilliant.
Turns out it actually was a point gained.

Must say I prefer a lower view than in the west Stand in the Gods. Its not that different from watching it on the telly up there. But lower down you are more in the game so so to speak.
Enjoyable night but could have been better

Good observations Pattishall and your stance on the game itself was interesting.

I think their shirts are probably the worst shirts we have seen at Sixfields this season.

What is the fascination with Roberts? Genuinely I don't get it. It's March and he still has more red cards than goals. Other than an assist v Boro I can't think of anything else he's done all season, other than cost us a point at Lincoln with his petulance. He was in acres of space on the right in the second half tonight and hesitated before falling over his own feet and putting the ball out for a goal kick which just about summed up his contribution to our season.

Clearly you have a downer on Roberts which is well detailed in your message. For me he clearly has talent which was clearly shown at Huddersfield some weeks ago!

What I forgot to say was he's a proper Cobblers forward, think Grayson, Heggs, McGleish type of player. I do think you notice it more from a lower viewpoint.

In both of your opinions! As I understand Perry has very limited experience of league football at any level. Also Perry is a defensive midfielder not a Hoskins! If you were at the game you might possibly have a forgiving view point! Arguments from a couch are not normally the most informed way to offer an opinion?

Don't worry I think we all know what your opinion is, you say it often enough.

He just can't help himself. We saw the Perry chance half a dozen times, he saw it once, side on from the West Stand but apparently he had the better view. You couldn't make it up.

Managers like Bowen and Wilder* are rare to come by! Whether we like it or not Jon Brady is the only recent Manager who can possibly follow in their* footstops!

We should stick with him, as at the moment he is our only hope of survival as a EFL Club!

So you’d argue that someone who can see a particular event during a game through instant replays and VAR analysis has a less valid opinion than someone who lives locally and can get to all the games?

I’d beg to differ, however I’d agree you can see more of the off camera action of course.

Agree with this. Costelloe has been immense in the last 2 games. In fact, he's not dissimilar to Morton either. We'd been missing Morton since hi injury, just because of the type of player he is. Costelloe has the same fighting, in-your-face, willing runner qualities, but overall is a better player than Morton I'd say, as he can link up play too.

I was actually at the game Marvo and I know he should have scored, or at least got it on target. What I don't like is Evers always bringing the couch, sofa, armchair in to his posts because he doesn't share the same view as others.

You only had to look at the disappointment on the boys face when it went wide, HE can't believe he didn't score.

I watched it on TV, we could all see what he tried to do and it was a good effort, unfortunately it didn't hit the back of the net.
I always used to say to my players, I prefer someone to attempt and miss than not attempt at all. Can't score if you don't shoot.
He'll probably get it right the next time...

A very valid point. If someone watching on a screen isn't the best vantage point how did VAR come about!

Can you imagine?

We're going to have to check whether that was offside/handball/penalty, etc and to do that were going to ask the chap sitting in row H seat 137 for a defining decision.

Oh hang on, cancel that. Apparently he'd just popped out for a piss and didn't see that particular moment of the action.  Grin Grin

Nothing personal against Roberts I want him to succeed like all of our players but we're in March now and he's done fùck all. There's no evidence to suggest that's likely to change.
