So if Liverpool had offered us Salah on loan but said because of injury he wouldn't be available for a couple of weeks, you lot would have said no thanks?

What a stupid comparison

What a stupid comparison

Not at all. We were offered a very decent prospect who is injured at the moment. I don't see anything wrong with that.

Managers like Bowen and Wilder* are rare to come by! Whether we like it or not Jon Brady is the only recent Manager who can possibly follow in their* footstops!

We should stick with him, as at the moment he is our only hope of survival as a EFL Club!

It was an example to show how stupid the comments were.

Seriously, you wouldn't take a player on a 3 month loan because he might miss the first couple of games? FFS! We've just won at Mansfield and moved up to 17th. Cant you just enjoy it?

I suspect we took an injured player as its all we could get or afford? Given what we actually needed

Signing injured players speaks for itself Marvo, we’ve got a complete squad full of them, do you think we need some more, he might only be injured for a couple more games then we have to “manage his minutes” he probably won’t be starting for 4-5 games.

I'd prefer to sign an injured good player than an average run of the mill squad filler as long as they are young. We could have signed Jordan Rhodes, like Mansfield did, would that really have been any better?

It really depends on the nature of the injury - if it’s a one off with a proven quick recovery no problem however if it’s a recurring injury and/or the player has a history of injuries then perhaps the wisdom of the signing open to question

Age is also a big factor with injuries. For example, if Guthrie was 5 years younger I'm fairly sure he'd be offered a contract extention.

He really has been well worth the wait. Quality player isn't he. Exactly what we've been missing since Bowie and Appere departed.

I thought he was really poor and the Geordies deserved to win by more....oh, you're not still discussing Salah.  Tongue

He works hard and runs himself out of energy, needs to up his game on his finishing, he’s better that Appere but not as good as Bowie.
I like him he’s got decent pace.
