Wasn't there last night what was the issue with Salt's bat

Could Lancs be forced to lose the points from the game

The umpires or one of our lads spotted there was something wrong with it after an over or so (Salt had already smacked the ball about a bit in Willey's first over) and Rob Bailey tested it with a device that the bat should be able to get through. It didn't. It was too wide or too bent. There was a clear exchange of views (and a clear annoyance from both umpires and Willey with the matter) but Salt was allowed to continue with a different bat selected by him from his own spare bats from his kit. In Sanderson's following over Salt missed a beauty of a ball by a whisker and it appeared that his comment to Salt was along the lines of "you'd have nicked that with the other bat". Salt's innings became match winning.

Apparently a similar incident occurred a couple of seasons ago in the 20/20 when Josh Cobb was playing for Worcestershire and the penalty was 2 points deducted from the following season's T20 competition but suspended a year (presumably no deduction therefore as long as another similar incident didn't happen).

I guess we'll see what happens as the Umpires will have reported it.

v Worcestershire. Start delayed but the weather forecast looks decent for later - they've asked us to bat first.

Shame it didn't keep raining. 32/3.

Managers like Bowen and Wilder* are rare to come by! Whether we like it or not Jon Brady is the only recent Manager who can possibly follow in their* footstops!

We should stick with him, as at the moment he is our only hope of survival as a EFL Club!

53/4. How on earth did we win 6 on the bounce?

None of the first 5 batsmen reach 20 and the first 3 face a total of 41 balls and 28 are dot balls, almost 5 maiden overs.

Same against Lancs when nobody made a significant contribution with the bat and 32 was our highest score.

Desperately in need of some quick wickets, Worcester ahead of the required run rate.

Well Leicestershire have lost, so as long as Durham beat Warwickshire we'll stay third but playing like this, not for long.....
