Let's be honest, Tuesday was an awful, awful, totally abject performance and I was fully expecting us to get royally done by Boro on the back of it. I certainly didn't see that performance coming!

There’s definitely no point trying to apply any logic to the lower leagues. I think this match suited us to be honest, our away form is actually top half!. Even with ten men they had the majority of possession and trying to play out from the back played into our hands with our high press.

Managers like Bowen and Wilder* are rare to come by! Whether we like it or not Jon Brady is the only recent Manager who can possibly follow in their* footstops!
We should stick with him, as at the moment he is our only hope of survival as a EFL Club!

The last couple of games show why managers prefer to treat matches in blocks of around 5. Can you imagine making long term plans based on just one of those games?

Awesome, excellent 4-0 win yesterday over Boro. 😁
Nice to see Burton and Crawley lose.

I think the fans deserve a shout out for yesterday too.
It’s rare I come away from a Cobblers game thinking to myself “bloody hell that was loud and constant”

It's rare we win 4-0 away from home. That might have had something to do with it don't you think? Great turn out though.

And our away form over the last 8 matches is the second-best in the league. You could perhaps argue that the way Nolan likes to play (high-press but low possession) suits us better as home sides likely naturally take more risks/like to assert control. Where we struggle is when we've got to take the game to the opposition WITH the ball & build from deep as apart from Taylor we don't have too many players comfortable with the ball at their feet for long periods. I would suspect that we gave one of the lowest successful pass completion rates in the division since Nolan took over. As others have correctly asserted, you need a high-energy centre-forward to play this way - it was the same with the Brady press, I always thought we were better with Appéré in the side because he was always buzzing around like an annoying fly that needed swatting. Costelloe is the perfect player to play this role as he seems to have almost unending energy reserves.

To be honest, most of us were inside the ground loud and singing an hour before kick off. A glorious day in the sunshine. Our away performances this season have regularly been much better than our home performances. The 'only' difference yesterday was that we put the chances away when on top and controlled the game from the front foot in the second half without really busting a gut.

Well in my opinion, for what it's worth, Peterborough were their own worse enemies. Had they lumped the ball forward at every opportunity instead of fu cking about at the back, the result may well have been turned on its head. If ever a team played into anothers hands, this was it. Unbelievable really.

They had probably seen how unsuccessful we had been lumping it forward in recent games.

With all due respect I think Peterborough might have a speedier, better strike force than ourselves (at the moment).

Obviously impacted as the game went on BUT it was loud and constant before kick off.

Maybe so, but in my opinion, they were unable to lump it forward because of our effective high pressing. One opinion praises our performance, the other criticises theirs.

Well you can't have a high press if the ball is being kicked into your half. The sending off came from a rolled out pass, the penalty from a defender trying to dribble it out, and they got away with some as well. It was a magnificent performance from the Cobblers, how could it not be winning 4-0 away from home but that doesn't blind me to how and why we won and the part the hosts played in their own downfall. If that was reversed our supporters would be crucifying us on here today.

Not a lot to add but to say what a wonderful performance and result. Everyone to a man was excellent and that one will live long in the memory. Will be interesting to see what happens moving forward when Nolan recruits his own players and molds his own squad. Would be happy to see his additions back in Costelloe, Taylor and Perry (who has done very well for this first taste of senior football).
