People would soon get bored with pretty football as well. Twice this season, we have done Boro, and the Bluenoses with their play out from the back routine. That dented their fans enthusiasm.      FOORWAAARD!!...
No, at this level its winning what gets people excited, not tippy-tappy bollox.

Huddersfield away was another fantastic example of this.

No need for insults and foul language, says a lot about a person.

There's every need. Why doesn't he just shut the fuck up and singing from a different record? He never seems to realise that nobody agrees with him, I've yet to see anybody back him up. Even a sycophant like you.

Managers like Bowen and Wilder* are rare to come by! Whether we like it or not Jon Brady is the only recent Manager who can possibly follow in their* footstops!

We should stick with him, as at the moment he is our only hope of survival as a EFL Club!

Bit ironical from a ‘fan’  who never goes  but prefers a comfy settee!

Yes, damn you Marvo for not commuting back and forth from Australia for every Cobblers game.... where's your commitment?

Your opinion is not valid..... You're not a proper fan!  Grin

😁

In fairness, I can understand why West Stand oap has chipped in, he must be distraught after seeing all those stats in the Chron last week stating how many games we'd played and how many against other clubs. I wonder if he wrote to them and told them only games after we'd joined the football league count?

Don't worry WSOAP, people like to read your posts on here, they don't care how accurate they are. Not very as it turns out.

Marvo, you seem to have a bee in your bonnet about games we played in the Southern League before joining the football league. As you know none of the sites listing head to head games against any of our opponents  take these into consideration. You say the stats I post are not accurate but they very rarely differ to those posted by GPC. I have no idea what you are going on about regarding the Chron.

You also seem to have a bee in your bonnet about Everbrite who I have spoken to many times home and away, in fact last season our seats were quite close so we spoke regularly. I have to say that he is very affable and I have never heard him using foul and abusive language which is totally unnecessary. Your posts are inappropriate to a fellow supporter who has travelled the length of the country over many years to support his team and is a better man than you will ever be.

On a side note regarding foul and abusive language there is a chap who sits in our area who f's at the referee every home game who is embarrassing. Many of the things he complaind about the referee has made the right decision.

I think they should make it compulsory that all supporters bring a rattle. The evidence regarding the effect they have on home games is crystal clear. Exemptions should be offered to anyone bringing a big pair of cymbals.

I haven't got a bee in my bonnet. Those games are a part of our history, its why they were included in the Chron & Echo statistics last week. The teams they stated we've played the most are in that position because we played them in the Southern league. When they said we'd reached the 5,000 league fixture mark, that included matches from the Southern League. Its hardly my fault you continue to get your stats from websites that don't give the complete picture, probably because, lie you, they can't be arsed to do the research. Lazy.

As for Everbrite, next time you speak, maybe suggest he gives it a rest about supporters who for whatever reason don't attend games. That is their personal choice and nothing to do with him. If he shut up then maybe he wouldn't attract the abuse? He remains the ONLY poster on here to continue with this attack on fellow supporters. Perhaps he has a bee in his bonnet?

"Better man than I'll ever be"? Based on what? You don't even know me you prick!

I don't here any bees buzzing. Just a personality clash which happens in life...

That said, it's a more entertaining watch when you battle with wit and humour or even hardcore acting.

It's a dire watch though when it gets abusive and personal.

It's fine to disagree and debate posts but best not to attack the poster...

You're better than that. You are perfectly entitled to defend yourself from such nonsense. But as was mentioned elsewhere, keep the humour and guile..

Okay Nigel so lets just analyse what's gone on here.

The original poster posed the question of what others thought would improve the atmosphere. My suggestion was a larger home end with terracing. As far as I can see, Everbrite, this nice affable chap I keep hearing about, didn't make any suggestions, didn't give us his thoughts on what might improve the atmosphere. No, instead he decided to take the opportunity to attack a poster who did make the effort to reply to the OP, on the grounds that as he didn't attend games, he shouldn't comment.

He said the comment was "ironic" yet the true irony here is if you want to increase the attendance at games you need to attract people who don't currently attend, so in actual fact my opinion, well not mine per say but people like myself who don't attend are the most valid of all.

What would get me to start going again? Well sadly I can't think of anything. I love watching the game, I watch every week but from the comfort of my sofa at home or wherever I happen to be in the world at any given time. I started watching the Peterborough game about 5 minutes before kick off, thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the instant replays when you really get to see what happened, then switched off when the game ended. It was two hours well spent, though "spent" is probably the wrong choice of words as it didn't cost me any money or more importantly to me, valuable time.

I've given this some thought. As you are well aware I devoted quite a chunk of my life to following the Cobblers home and away and played my part in the club, what with being on the supporters club, starting and organising coaches, being a constant season ticket holder at Sixfields since it opened in 1994 up until I retired. Of course back in the day, if you wanted to see the Cobblers, your only choice was to go to games. There was very, very few Cobblers games televised, maybe one a season on Anglia's "Match of the Week". Now its different and like I said I've given this some consideration and in truth if things had been like the are now when I started going then almost certainly I would have watched most games on the TV. My job as a train driver wasn't conducive with following a football team, what with working shifts including evenings and weekends. Going to the Cobblers cost me a fortune when you add lost earnings to the equation, I'd hate to think how much the club has cost me over the years, must be many thousands. So being able to cut out the travelling, the cost and swapping of shifts would have been a godsend back in the day and probably would have swayed my attendance at matches.

Anyway, my apologies to you and any others (apart from Everbrite) for my short and sharp repost. I had just returned from a lovely morning playing golf in a very happy frame of mind only to read that berk once again back on his high horse, despite being told by many people, many times that what others choose to do with their time is nothing to do with him. I didn't have the time or patience to compose a considered response and I don't think he even deserved one so hence my actions.

Marvo, in answer to your question why I said Everbrite is the better man, no I have never met you and as I said I have spoken to Everbrite many times. What my opinion is based on is how you both conduct yourselves as you regularly resort to insults, name calling (now I'm a prick) and foul language which I have never heard from him. Time to drop the school ground bully tactics, I see others are also pulling you up about this.
