It must be time to get this started again.

I've already read that 15 will be coming in and KN wants a smaller squad next season. If both of those are correct it looks like the majority of the out of contract players could be on their way very soon. Regardless it could be a busy summer ahead.

Let the wild guesses begin...

Now things are resolved for next season I was thinking in the car on the way home that I'm genuinely excited to see what happens over the summer.

The calibre of players Nolan bought in during the relatively brief time he had in January was superb; Shaw, Perry and especially Taylor and Costelloe have all stood out and I'd be delighted to see them all back next season (obviously Shaw is ours anyway).

With the club getting things resolved off the field, a third season in the third tier ahead of us and a "name" manager with lots of contacts in charge then who knows who we could attract for next year? If the financial backing is there it could be a very exciting summer. Bring it on!

Can we please lock this until end of the season at least?! We'll have a Winter transfer thread by start of July at this rate.

If the winter window is anything to go by. We signed a player not wanted playing in the division below, a player not good enough to get game time at a rival club in our division, a kid on loan with league 2 experience and a kid on loan with no experience. On paper not the most exciting signings.

So maybe dont expect big or well known names but good signings, not an exciting summer but a good season.

We don’t need big name signings, just a team which wants to play for each other and the shirt, with free flowing ‘passing’ football. If they can do that the crowd will support them 100%!!

The January loan signings have been excellent but the first priority should be to get Mbete back for a full season, as he is so influential and different class.

I think i'd use 3 of our loan slots next year on players from this year eg. Costelloe, Perry, Mbete. Think it's important KN stays away from players such as Roberts / Fosu and I think he will.

Re-sign yet another injury prone player...yep, sounds ideal!  Roll Eyes

I'd say Taylor, Perry & Costelloe were far more influential...and fitter!

Also, Mbete was a Brady signing...

I'm sure we will have a completely new look defence & goalkeeper anyway.

I bore everyone shítless with this every year, but the crucial element for us is the loans, and those don’t happen till the back end of the window as a rule. Last summer was a bit hit and miss, January outstanding.

Mbete 😂 he’s been injured most of the season, you haven’t got a clue.

Brady would still be manager if Mbete had been fit all season.

Its what I keep saying..... Grin

The best leveller by far when it comes to competing with teams with much higher budgets is to persuade clubs to lend out their players to us as they will get more game time. Its the only way we can get players earning big money. Brady played the loan market superbly for a few seasons before it all went wrong last summer. The Vicar and Chouchane are/were clearly not up to scratch, Mbete got injured for most of the season and Morton got injured for 90% of the season. Roberts has contributed one goal so far and has also had a series of injuries. Luck plays a massive part and Brady's luck ran out which in turn caused his downfall. On the flipside, Costello, Perry and Taylor have all been brilliant and 'saved our season'.

Not aimed at you, just adding a bit of meat on the bone to the general discussion!

I'd like Taylor and Costelloe back here next year on season long loans.

I think someone like Perry, there are a few out there similar, so an option, but not a priority - he would only be back up once Shaw is fit again.

Mbete can come back if he promises to be fit all season.

Those out of contract - not sure how many would be missed, but its not many.

I agree with the correspondent who suggested on this thread that Mbete was an excellent influential signing. Do you understand the nature of Mbete former injury?

Lampard could hardly be a better potential mentor.
