Open: Sunday 1 June to Tuesday 10 June (19:00) Close: Tuesday 10 June (19:00:01) to Monday 16 June (00:01) Re-open: Monday 16 June to Monday 1 September (19:00) Due to an additional FIFA Club World Cup Registration Period introduced ahead of the start of the FIFA Club World Cup, the EFL and its Clubs have agreed that the summer transfer window shall operate for an additional ten-day period from Sunday 1 June 2025 to 19:00 on Tuesday 10 June 2025. This is due to the transfer window being unable to exceed a total of 89 days.
Via the EFL
So every club has to kick their heels for 6 days, all pending deals on hold. What nonsense.

I feel like we have this conversation every year. Most of our signings are out of contract so whatever the window is, it doesn't really affect us. We announce signings anyway even before the 'official' 1st July.

The level we're at, you have to sign players like Fitzsimmons in that department
Yes he was at National League North level last year but he was promoted, voted best GK in Non-League and had 27 clean sheets At 31 and with a year under Nolan already, he has the experience and trust to come in and play if needed whilst pushing Burge to be at his best Lot's of upside, very little downside. Still leaves 2 experienced keepers at different levels for Dadge to learn from who is clearly well liked by the staff
Also saw something about the transfer window stuff, it's just about when a player 'officially joins' a club. We can still make and announce signings, just a weird effect of this summer club world cup and eligibility windows

Nolan knows him and has picked him based off that, though wanting Dadge as 2nd and then having 3 goalkeepers seems like an odd decision, but at least we're covered for injuries.
Too many missing players, particularly down the spine, to know whether to be worried or not... but the ones who are in the most demand are going to be the ones that sign the latest on in the window. Surprised Campbell hasn't signed yet. A real statement signing at centre-back, centre-midfield and up front would really knit it all together.

My view regarding the keeper situation, I think it's a smart move by Nolan. Whilst some one the feedback from other clubs does not fill me with confidence, didn't Walsall fans give one out best keepers in recent times dire reviews?
If Burge gets injured we've got two keepers competing for the number one spot, can't be a bad thing? I'm guessing relatively cheap too.
Lot of work to be done. Looking forward to next few signings

Well now I've read the post Thought Tzaznev was steady, think Burge is steady. Nowhere near our top ten keepers of all time, but nowhere near the worst. If Fitzwotsit is "steady" then that will do as a relatively cheap option.

Even though all clubs can use it, that transfer window rule is aimed at the clubs in the Club World Cup so they can sign players before it starts.
It changes absolutely nothing for us. We wouldn't take over the players contracts until the first of July like normal, we'll still announce them like normal.

A type of signing we've had loads of times before, a bloke on the lower league merry ground. I doubt its the profile Kev is looking for but like others noted will be miles better than Wilson if he plays some football. Good option of the bench. If starting on paper looks woeful, but Hilton looked like a dream based on records so who knows???
