For me its a no. As others have pointed out he started off fantastically well but went missing for the majority of the season.
Clearly has great technical ability but his physical attributes are waning and his overall output is just not sufficient to justify him being a general passenger. In fact in many scenarios he put us in trouble with trying to do way too much.
Its nice to have a maverick in the squad, but I dont think Fosu is going to be that for us next season.

You're right, he's no Savage.

Tadrique Fosu winner of the Dave Savage award for only start playing when contracts are being considered!
Harsh…Savage was one of our most underrated players IMO. I always enjoyed watching him and versatile for DIY tips. We all have our favourites and the players we didn’t warm too…I couldn’t stand David (sulky) Seal but quite a few did.

Fosu is one of those players who flirts with your emotions. Extraordinarily talented, so he is playing at our level for a reason. He comes across as sometimes not really having his heart in it, and seems to just go through the motions too often. If he had the desire and drive of a Costelloe he’d be some player. Unfortunately in this game you can’t fake it indefinitely, you either want it or you don’t. Based on what he has delivered across his tenure, and in the absence of any mitigating circumstances I’d let him go.

Let me make one thing absolutely clear, the Trust “advisor” is not god. Are you going to tell him or shall I?

Yep. Unless Kev knows something none of us know, Id definitely be letting him go.
As others have said. He's a very talented player, arguably the most naturally talented player in our squad by some distance. But his application is poor. Its not that he doesn't put in the effort (Wilson is the only player we have that doesn't in my opinion), he just doesn't go the extra mile needed and seems to simply be 'not that bothered/motivated'. Probably because he's used to playing at a higher level, he's nearly 30...he just lacks hunger basically.
Good luck to him though. An enigma. Not a player Ill forget in 20 years time and there's been a lot of those!

Surely thats the Job of the manager to motivate him though?

Primarily it is the job of each individual player to motivate himself and gain self advancement. The managers main priority is to mould them into a team!

The problem for Fosu is that his style of play and contribution make it difficult for him to have a “solid” game. He either produces moments of magic or loses possession. This means he’s either vying for man of the match or judged a waste of space.

I want us to offer him a contract. I know that he's very much flattered to deceive this season, but after being completely omitted from the side by Nolan, from the outside looking in it looks like he worked hard to get fit and get back into the team towards the end of the season.
He's an exciting player to watch, he's a potential game changer and with the right management and coaching to keep him focussed then we have a very good player on our books.
Whatever happens, this could be a pivotal season for his football career.

Fosu was a major plus in Brentford reaching the Prem.

I agree; he's no Aaron McGowan, but every team should have a luxury player when we are trying to unlock a defence, and Tariqe is as good as most.

I want us to offer him a contract as long as it doesn’t involve playing football for us. Part time sparky … yes Full time plumber… yes Cleaner… yes Barwork … yes Professional football player… no

I can say it again. we can't afford him.
If we can’t and had him last season then we are firmly in the shît, the news that Burge stays and adage as back up is a recipe for disaster.

Depends on the contract for me. A years contract on a squad status wage? I'd absolutely keep him. Anything more, and I'd probably be looking elsewhere.

Going from Prem/Championship wages to a year in the footballing wilderness then a sub par year with us. I’d doubt he’ll have an abundance of high paying options forthcoming. Talented no doubt but…

As frustrating as he has been and his performances aside he is the standard of player we should be attracting if we are serious about keeping our league 1 status, if Nolan knows him and knows how to get him motivated then sign him up, if he cant and there is a better option as always thanks for your efforts we move on
