If we can get players like Dara, Shaw and Taylor into the club, we will have no problem finding a replacement for Fosu. Talented yes, however, overall contribution to the season, no thanks.

Here's the comparison for me;
Hoskins - must have scored 40 odd goals for us over the last 3 or 4 seasons as good if not better than Fosu's contribution to the goal on Saturday.
Ricky Holmes - Fosu is £ shop in comparison.
He has to be judged on his overall performance over a season - not good enough to be rewarded with a new contract.

Personally I disagree with Cobblers for Ever and 151 as for me they are both flawed arguments One of the aforementioned starts his comparison with an 'if' which is a self defeating to start with. Easier said than done! The other concentrates on the comparison field but cherry picks his players; signs off with a bullish comment on performance and potential contracts. I love the way on here how some esteemed experts (not above) base their opinions on cost/money but wearing their business hat on (as if). How about offering a decent argument for retaining Fosu!

Fair enough Evers. Seems like Kev and you are on the same page - he wants him back for the right price.

We will know shortly if Fosu is to be retained?

I would 💯 keep him if KN can get him on a deal. The lad has unbelievable talent and is a match winner so if anyone can get a tune out of him next season then it’s Nolan…

All this keep/get rid is dependent about Fosu is mainly down to how the ‘previous’ team phase played, and only obviously only getting 51 points shows it wasn’t that great.
If Fosu gets proper service and space etc, then he’ll improve and not get so disheartened. Playing in a poor team, surely doesn’t help with confidence and consistency!!

If the price is right, keep him. Especially if Nolan’s tough love has worked.

It’s a real carrot isn’t it. If he does raise his levels of consistency in playing to the best of his ability, which is possible, we’ll hit the jackpot. I’m changing my mind again.

Let me make one thing absolutely clear, the Trust “advisor” is not god. Are you going to tell him or shall I?

"Conversations are ongoing with Tariq Fosu", I find this a rather odd situation either we make him an offer or we don't.

Just sign him on, he’s absolute quality, it’s has been mentioned his attitude isn’t right, but recently he’s been a lot better and with better players he will influence the game more.

It could be along the lines of, "heres a pay as you play contract, take it or leave it". Unlikely I know, but this is Nolans opportunity to mould his team, in a manner that he sees fit. After all, if he is that good, then he is undroppable, right?

I think there's two parts to this. Firstly, has his attitude improved or has he only started to bother when his contract is up and he wants to keep his options open. Secondly though... yeah, that thought had crossed my mind too. He was a bit of a liability in quite a fragile team. If he was part of a more solid team in which he could just be unleashed without too much in the way of defensive responsibilities then it could be mouthwatering.

Has he resolved his hamstring issues?
I recall he spent most of the season in second gear reluctant to sprint.

No idea why we're wasting our time on him tbh, only turned up for a few games...
Extremely lightweight & lost possession countless times...
Rather we try & get someone in like Kamari Doyle on loan from Brighton, did a well at Crawley & previously Exeter on loan

The thing I do not understand about the Fosu situation is this.
Firstly, if he has been offered a contract, even on reduced terms, why is he not included in the "PLAYERS OUT OF CONTRACT WHO HAVE BEEN OFFERED A NEW CONTRACT" list?
Secondly, if either party has triggered any existing extension clause the surely he would either be in the retained or released list?
I can only assume that either party (but probably Fosu) has a clause but has not yet exercised it, or there is an issue to be resolved.
All idle speculation I know. My personal view is that he is a talented player, but the management would never have any idea which version of Fosu is going to turn up when he steps out on to the pitch. Just from that perspective I will not shed any tears if he moves on.

Fossu came to us very late in the window so didn't have the benefit of a pre season so injuries are so easy to pick up then hard to shake off. I think he could play the Tyler Roberts role and score more as well, our pre season last year undercooked several players causing injuries let's hope the promise of a gruelling pre season is true.myself I would have offered a year to AK because he is so versatile we need a good keeper burge is OK but worries me at times and a beyo like striker who puts the fear of God into defenders.
