First off. I don't believe in a god. However fair play to those who do truly believe that we go somewhere else after death. It must be reassuring and I'm truly envious. I face an eternal darkness and it's not a comforting thought and believing that one day we all face the same fate doesn't provide any compensation.
How I see it, imagine there is a god. He has created all the world and all that's in it, yet the only creation he asks to worship him are human beings. No other animal, insect or fish has been set this task, they all go about their lives, basically on instinct, doing what they do until their time comes. Not one of them wonders where they came from or where they are going, or erects buildings where they can go worship/pray to their maker. No, that all falls on us and why, because we have been given the power to think, to reason, to make up our own minds on matters. If god truly wanted to create a creature that just worshipped and obeyed, why give it the tools to consider whether the creator even exists? It doesn't make any sense. What's the purpose?
As for praying, well that's nonsense isn't it because if I pray that the coin lands heads, and you pray that it lands on tails, one of us are going to get our prayers answered, the other ignored, and we both could be praying to the same god.
Also, trying to put myself in gods shoes, why would I answer a prayer for someone who selfishly asks something for themselves? Surely a prayer should be at the very minimum unselfish and directed towards the benefit of others, like a sick child or relative, or maybe a friend that's in trouble. Asking god to prevent the Cobblers losing is daft and surely against the whole meaning of the bible? Like the coin toss, what if someone is praying to the same god for your opponents not to lose? How is that then decided? A draw maybe, but then nobody gets what they wanted.
So in conclusion, pray if you wish, you are not hurting anybody and if you get what you asked for, by all means put the reason down to the prayer. And if it goes unanswered? Well you can always pray again I guess. It's going to come down heads sooner or later.

Managers like Bowen and Wilder* are rare to come by! Whether we like it or not Jon Brady is the only recent Manager who can possibly follow in their* footstops!
We should stick with him, as at the moment he is our only hope of survival as a EFL Club!

Turns out it’s down to nothing more than faith then after all, who’d have thunk it?

Let me make one thing absolutely clear, the Trust “advisor” is not god. Are you going to tell him or shall I?

One thing that I do know. People that claim that their invisible friend, is better than anybody elses invisible friend, are going to cause conflict around the world. Especially those in Toyota pick-ups.

Well there’s the problem right there. Its not enough for people to believe something, they will insist on attempting to impose that belief system on someone else. I find atheists are up there with the best of them when it comes to that.

Rarely do atheists knock on peoples doors, or hand out leaflets though. Or stand outside St Edmunds, the old M&S, or Aldi town centre. I find that a hearty "harumph" followed by "good day to you Sir/Madam" whilst strolling away, sees the bounders off.

If you choose a religion, some have one god some have thousands. So there are thousands of fictional gods whether you choose a religion or not. No one is born into a religion, it's just forced onto you by your parents.
Well I don’t subscribe to any religion. But I believe in God….. STILL 😁 As for the parent theory. Certainly no influence whatsoever, in my case. ONE GOD… NO RELIGION.

I respect the ability to believe and find faith and community in any religion. Just don't knock on my door. There is more chance of dinosaurs being real than God though.
