Still got one. And very injury prone to boot.
And to keep him on his toes, we now have a 31 year old fresh from playing the last five years in non-league. And if he is here to support and work with Burge / Dadge, where does that leave James Alger?  Im not impressed with this signing at all.

What do you mean where does it leave James Alger? He's the goalkeeping coach and remains the goalkeeping coach. I think you're reading too much into the words used. Goalkeepers support and work with each other in training more than any other players, they are a goalkeepers union. Three of them getting the best out of each other and support each other.

Seen enough transfers that we thought would do well totally flop and enough that we thought would flop do well to just take the stance of trust the manager and see what happens at this point.

Welcome aboard!

Nolan must rate him. not least because he's managed him and presumably kept tabs on him. In a sense , I'm more surprised by his clear confidence in Burge as his No 1.

I think that you know exactly what I mean, and if I was James, then the use of the terms "three of them", and "goalkeepers union" would leave me more than a little pissed off. Especially as Nolan said that he wants two players per position, not three.  Capiche ?

KN clearly stated at the fans forum he wanted 3 keepers,
two PLUS Dadge...You can listen back as it was recorded & released as a podcast by the It's All Cobblers To Me gang...

Go to 59.18 & KN states here wants 20 outfield & 3 keepers

So we now have the 3 keepers Nolan wanted & James Alger is still the goalkeeping coach...

Not that difficult to understand surely...

Capisce?  Wink

I Ross can distribute better than Burge and not get involved in as much time wasting, then I'll be happy.

Do you think Alger has been annoyed we've had three keepers every season he's been here?

I think the wider point he is trying to make is this fella is no spring chicken and has had nothing but pub league experience for the majority of his 10 year career. Reading between the lines it appears he's a very lovely guy, potentially naturally transiting into a coaching type role perhaps?

No I don't.

Ragdoll gave you some homework to listen to KN's interview at the open meeting. If I can also suggest you listen to his interview after signing where he clearly mentions working with Alger. Happy listening  Wink

That's fair enough. Can't see Alger being too worried about his future myself. He had a hand bringing in Jack Burroughs recently. And it's far from unusual coaching players who may have an eye on a coaching role over the next decade.
