‘ The move is a homecoming for the creative midfielder Jacobs who returns to Sixfields, where his professional journey first began, bringing a wealth of experience and proven quality at both Championship and League One level.’
What is he creates out of curiosity? 8 goal contributions in 70 appearances….

Similar age and number of appearances as Jon Guthrie over the last 2 years but no fuss over giving him a contract.
I've kept an eye on Crackers over the years and he undoubtedly has a lot of quality - his level of creativity is something we don't have elsewhere in the team, and his set pieces will be more than useful. He is a more rounded player than the youngster that left us.
Combine all that with the fact he isn't going to be a big chunk of the budget, and it's only a 1 year deal I don't see what all the negativity is about.
With our budget you have to take a punt in a few areas and this seems a perfectly sensible one.

Sensible post, I also think people don't take into account off-field (training etc) effect some players can have - I'd bet the club think he can have an impact there too.

Have we been scouting chesterfields training sessions also I see a lot of people saying the buzz words experienced, leader, mentor, coach etc. genuinely intrigued has he been captain or similar at any former clubs or are these buzz words just another way of saying he’s old and past his best?

For me he is an positive additon; for a potentially bound championship bound team.....perhaps. Sorry Mysterious but some of us prefer to live in hope rather than mindless negativity!

Decent signing as a squad player. Experienced, wants to play for the club, possible future coach at the club he started out at. Welcome back!

Pleased to hear we have the budget to sign players to use sparingly. If only we could find an experienced player that could play week in week out. Is it too early to resign Pinnock?

He captained Northampton before.
