Fixtures 25/26 out soon, in days time.

Missing it/football. Looking forward to the season starting up, and fixtures coming out.

Who will we have on opening day home or away.

I’’m going for Rotherham United at home. 😁

Always look forward to the fixtures coming out, means the new season is just around the corner.
I suspect that people will be disappointed when we play somebody away on a Tuesday ( Too far to travel) Upset because the Christmas games are not fair.   Why are we playing Peterborough then ? That's the likely scenario's  Grin

As long as way get a bigger team for the last away game, will suit me. A Port Vale, Bradford, Doncaster or Reading etc..
Crawley last season seemed like such an anti climax.

Hopefully a home game to start as I'm otherwise engaged and would much rather miss a home game than an away day.

We turned up, it was the team that didn't and turned it into an anti climax...

Managers like Bowen and Wilder* are rare to come by! Whether we like it or not Jon Brady is the only recent Manager who can possibly follow in their* footstops!

We should stick with him, as at the moment he is our only hope of survival as a EFL Club!

looking forward to the usual - something a certain admin has probably said in the past - to regurgitate the classic "The fixture list is irrelevant.. we play every team twice" line

Years ago on here, there used to be a poster called Cricketside. We didn't get on. Anyway one year at this time, I said I'd been forwarded the opening days fixtures early and then said who'd we got first game.  Cricketside called me out on it, said it was complete bollocks (it was) and nobody could possibly know the fixtures early and then kept haranguing me about it until the fixtures came out and low and behold, (it was a 46/1 shot), we were up against the side I'd predicted. He went crazy, I played along and in the end he wrote to the football league telling them what had transpired and demanding an investigation and thecsource to be exposed. I don't know if he got a reply. Maybe the most fun I ever had on here, definitely in my top ten. Wonder what happened to him?

He became Garibaldi for a bit, before, like an old soldier, he simply faded away.

I’m on holiday for the opening weekend so will miss the first game. Hoping for a poor away game to start so I won’t be disappointed. I was hoping the season would start the following weekend. It is an incredibly early start.

I'm afraid I can't get excited about the fixtures as I couldn't care less who we play when. We have to play each team twice so it doesn't bother me when it happens.

I will say one thing though, I hope we are not away to the team at the top of the league on the last day of the season, needing a win to stay up.

I’d imagine a fair few of the past posters have met their maker by now. I guess a lot are not connected outside of posting on here, so we never get to find out. It’s the laws of probability…and lifespan!
Others are probably too old to have run a PC update.  Grin

This is true Dav, and what's a PC? 😉
I remember Cricketside and Garibaldi for being particularly caustic posters. I don't recall the incident Marvo refers to above but I'm sure both sides will have given as good as they got, and I don't imagine the outcome will have been quite as b/w as now painted!

Cricketside was a lovely chap, we had many a chinwag over a pint, he had a very caustic sense of humour.
