Quote
If he doesn't cost anything then who cares ?

When you do shape work (which probably makes up 40% of training each week) you need at least 20 fit bodies - (11 v 11, defensive shape when down to 10 men, breaking down a 4-5-1, etc) It only takes a few injuries and Sammo then has to pull kids from the youth team training meaning Parrish has to run a session for just 7 or 8 lads which in itself would be pointless.

A keen, half competent footballer who costs nothing serves a purpose, even if it is simply to stand in at right back for the stiffs and have 1st team players build up their confidence by skinning you day in and day out or marking a post whilst the 1st team practice attacking set pieces

There's hundreds of talented GOOD young players who have been released by Premier League clubs, and even more playing semi-pro . All would jump at the chance of playing for us, even on very low wages and would cost nothing in fees as they are free agents. There's good players in the Glenn Hoddle Academy, there everywhere, yet we have Slowe, who is a sunday league player at best.

Jefferson Lake ask Sammo questions on Alistair Slowe?

Does he ask questions? Thought he just uses quotes from Radio Northampton interviews in his articles?!

I hope Sammo brings him on as a late sub before the end of the season because the (ironic) cheers will go to his head  Grin

A mere photo of some banter aimed at Slowes rather large head shape of which he also happens to be smiling in, right?

Sorry, so what part of that are you getting confused by? Jeez!?

Surely there must be someone on here who's seen Slowe play, either in training or in a 'reserve' match.

Just how bad is he?

Anyway, if - and at the moment it's a huge if - we are in a place of mid-table security come April, I'll definitely join in with a chant of 'we want Slowe!' The man has the potential to become a cult hero - like Efon Elad but without the talent.

Poor sod. I bet he's the butt of all the jokes in the dressing room. Surely some of the squad read this forum?

I reckon they'll make him mascot at some point   Grin

The best friend of my neighbour's neighbour's son is in the youth team and he said they are compiling a Xmas DVD on the Slowe saga as part of their media studies. Could this be the best money spinner in the club's history.
