Your're right Cockney Cobbler, some fans need to take note, not a breeze it probably should be - not a given. Finally didnt want to say anything negative about today, as in large parts we were doing great. Obviously would of took a point before hand, but left a little bit mad of the same recurring things still creeping in, this is a game we should have won, but yet again we've FAILED with the end result, will it prove - im getting tired of this "thats the way things are going at the moment" when will this "moment" end? Jeez its so hard work being a Cobbler!

Jeez its so hard work being a Cobbler! Never a truer word. Happy with the performance today - top marks for effort but, Bauza's goal apart, short on quality when it really mattered. Pivotal point was Harrad panicking a little after he charged their goalkeepers attempted pass down, only for them to go straight up the other end and pull one back to what, in truth, seemed a fairly soft goal. From that point we were hanging on by our fingernails but still managed a couple of chances on the break. Could well be a valuable point, though.

First of all, great overall performance today. Didn't expect any points from that game, but we should have had all 3.
On the downside, two appalling misses from harrad and Bauza and you will have to go a long way to see an effort as lamentable as Osman's at the end. If there can be such a thing as two turning points they were:
1. Harrad's miss after the appalling clearance by their keeper. All he had to go was pass it to Bauza for the simplest of chances. 3-0 and game over. But he went for glory; it ended in tears and doubly so because Wycombe pretty much went up the pitch and reduced the arrears to 1-2.
2. Secondly, Johnson's substitution of Bauza for Tozer. All that did, with 15 minutes to go, was invite pressure on. Once again we were found wanting at a set piece and the game was up. I must say that it always seems that manager feel obliged to make substitutions these days. How often do you see the starting 11 finish the game? Personally I'd have changed nothing at all.
Pretty much everyone turned in a good performance today, although I thought Osman didn't have his best of games. Rodgers was my mom: he was a constant thorn in the side of WW down the right flank, but a special mention to Collis who made some excellent saves in the 2nd half.
Bottom line though: 16 games now without a win. Would I have taken a point before a ball was kicked? Answer: yes.

It has to be "B" Another big smile on my face. I always get the big decisions right.
Couldn't be happier, you can all blame me if it turns pear shaped. Up next year without a doubt and no need of the play-offs.

Agree with Monty.
Really good shift was put in by the lads today, anyone there today can see the players are behind Gary Johnson and are working hard to make us safe.
Even though its disappointing we didn't hold onto the lead we were up against a decent Wycombe side and gave them a real run for their money today. Was a really good game of L2 football all round.
Special mentions to Rodgers and Webster who I thought were outstanding, also some of Jacobs' and Bauza's skill were a level above. The nutmeg Jacobs put in on their right back to lay the ball for Osman's miss at the end was the work of a guy well above this level. Loved how Bauza and the chunky challenges from Nana, Osman etc got right up the noses of the Wycombe fans, some nastiness was great to see.
Play like that for the next 4 then we have no worries, but that is now the benchmark.

Of course it's disappointing to lose a 2 goal lead but the fact remains that of the three results that mattered today, ours was the only one with a surprise result. We ARE better off than we were before a ball was kicked and that has to be some consolation.
It's also nice to think we can play so well against a team likely to be playing in League 1 next season, that is a good benchmark. It was also nie to hear Collis played well in goal, makes all those posters writing him off before they'd even see him play look very, very silly.

Can't disagree with any of that Marvo.
Its another game ticked off the list and we're in a better position than before the match.
My only slight criticism of Collis is he likes to stay on his line a lot, but other than that did well. One part that showed how much more vocal he is than Dunn was when Webster went to clear a ball at the near post and you heard a bloody loud 'KEEPERS!!!!' being shouted out.

It was a very good fully committed performance, which showed that the players do care, millions times better than last week. Rodgers was my MOM. The substitutions of Bauza and Harrad hampered us and invited pressure when it didn't need any invitation. We created some good chances today. if we can keep that level of performance up we'll get that much needed win soon! Thought Mr Crossley had a good game too!

A pretty good performance today and, despite letting a two goal lead go, I really enjoyed the game. I'd certainly have taken the point ahead of the match and when you look at the table it's a decent result. Walker was better today, Osman looked better than he has recently (dreadful miss at the death though), Davis looked much more assured at left back and Rodgers had one of his best games in a Cobblers shirt. Harrad and Bauza are starting to look a good pairing, although for me I think Bauza was a little lucky not to walk in the first half.
All in all, I'm feeling a bit more positive after the game than I have for a few weeks!

Congrats to the lads. Effort cannot be questioned today, keep playing like that and we will stay up. Moaners keep quiet, its obvious where the problems were but its easy being an amateur coach

Exactly. Its like congratulating the murderer who's just been released from prison and gone a week without re-offending.

I'm gutted. Three points lost for sure, no matter the 'I'd have taken a point before the game' we were 2-0 up.
I saw it coming, called it at half time and I'm gutted once again we bottled it.
I couldn't sit down for the second half and only did so when they equalised.
Saying that, first half was joy to watch. We showed everything we needed to get out of this mess, we showed class, determination, took our chances and had that little bit of luck. Second half was typical Cobblers and is the reason we are down where we are.
The second goal was a joy to behold, fantastic pacey break away. The link up with Harrad/Buaza/Jacobs was brilliant and for once we played to some football. Harrad should have got a hat trick today and Buaza should have bagged a brace. Impressed with them both but my worry is when we come up against a team who get in our faces and put it about a bit we'll come undone. Walked had little to do, Osman, in my eyes, was terrible and his miss at the end which went OUT FOR A THROW IN!!!! could be very costly indeed. Defence is still dodgy as f*** but the full backs had great games today and did the fundamentals and stopped the cross, which lead to a lack of chances for Wycombe. Collis has nothing to do first half and made some impressive saves in the second. I don't think he could have done much for the first goal, but the second maybe he should have come for the cross. Rodgers has a decent game but I thought Jacobs was star man. Class act.
I'm more upbeat than I was before the game, but we should have daylight between us and the bottom by now.
Still, Up the cobbs! Big three points friday and we'll be alright, I hope!

You do wonder about some supporters! The team competed very well in the 1st half but (and this is the problem)they faded badly as the second half went on. The midfield started to tire and surrender the ball. Harrad and Bauza were very good - Bauza goal was superb, easily best of game. Rogers had a good 1st half but tired as the game went on. Webster and defence played ok. Walker was better. Jacobs and Osman good. Could not understand why Mackay came on very lightweight and never put himself about. Last kick of game (and best chance) went to Osman who sliced wide - terrible miss. Still miles better than Bury performance - crowd about 400/500. Most Cobbs fans there were positive types. Only a few moans when we began to give ball away in last 10mins. Well earned deserved point though

The players put in the extra effort today, and more than deserved the point ............. and really should have had all three. We made a good Wycombe side look very ordinary. I thought it was a mistake when we took off Bauza (who was shattered !) and changed our formation, playing only one man up front who was immediately isolated, just inviting Wycombe to attack us and really handed them the initiative.

Would have took a point before the kick off but its disappointing to lose a 2-0 lead.I thought we played really well in the first half but the pivital moment was when Harrad charged down the keepers kick but we didn't score and they went straight up the other end and made it 2-1. I also think that GJ made a mistake by taking Bauza off , upto then when the ball went forward it stayed up there for a while ,once he went off it just came straight back putting us under more pressure.Do we ever keep a lead when we sit back? I think Crossley was fine in the first half but didn't give us a thing in the second , how we had 4 bookings and them none is amazing ,even the bloke who gave away the pen didn't get booked! Just a word about Josh Walker , I thought he had a great first half and tried hard in the second, well done! If we play as we did today for the remaining matches we will be OK, but I said that after the Torquay match

I don't have a problem with Bauza coming off - he looked knackered. Putting Tozer on in his place was a strange one for me, though. I'd have thought Leon would have been a better option - or McKay if McKenzie was deemed unfit - or even Holt at a push. However, Wycombe were beginning to take control at this stage so maybe shoring up the defence was high on GJ's priorities.

Overall i thought it was a cracking game of mostly end to end football. Plenty of effort from the Cobblers, but i thought you could tell Wycombe were a top 3 team in comparison. Very dissapointing that a two goal lead was lost. Harrad should have done better with his oppurtunity to make it 3-0 and game over, but fair play to Wycombe, they were a good team. I would have liked to have seen Leon come on to replace Bauza when he was knackered. Special credit to Jacobs and Collis today.

I don't disagree! But I feel we should have won! I'm not happy with a point, but content with the effort and a point.
