Just to reiterate, the record is 19 and we've done it twice.

Like everyone else on here I've been dissapointed with the under performing squad and our desperate run of form, but as a seasoned regular I,ve been quite entertained for most of this season and have enjoyed my 12  visits to
 sixfields
 this season!

Drilling - do you think we really need reminding?!!  The important thing is that we (and that includes YOU) turn out in big numbers at Sixfields and get the 3 points against Rotherham.

Is this board not designed to have a rant and let out your thoughts? Whether they are repetitive or not is pretty irrelevant. At least it shows that it's a genuine feeling and not some fickle post.

27 wins from 87 games is an appalling record. I think its 33 wins since November 2008.

If you had been there today then u may well yourself have been buoyant! Yes we have suffered enough this season but that little chink of light today of an improvement made it all the more worthwhile! Yes we conceded two but if we play like that from now on then we WILL stay up!!

The last time I read something like this on here was in the aftermath of the 2-2 draw with Torquay. I fell for it and left Bury St Edmunds at 6.30am for the Accrington game and got home at 10.30pm after witnessing one of the top 5 worst Cobblers performances in history. I've never stewed over a game as much as that one. So I'll not be buoyed by this comment thank you very much.

If, like me, one is only interested in League sequences, then 18 is the record because the '69 run included a defeat in the League Cup.

And only if somebody had listened we might have still been and league 1 and not where we are now Wink

Its amazing when; after someone (in this case me) starts a very topical thread about a club record that is on the verge of being broken that he/she can be accused of being repetitive/negative etc! Surely at a point where the current team is closing in on something that has never happened in 114 years it is worth a discussion? Given that this is a forum to discuss Cobblers related topics on?

I didn't go on Saturday but what has that exactly got to do with things? We got a decent result I accept that. I was driving back from Devon on Saturday afternoon, listening to Five live and getting text updates. Gutted when they equalised, woke the Mrs up with a swearing rant! Anyway, the point is simple. We all go through different emotions following this team/club and currently Im soooo pissed off with the team that my posts on here are likely to replicate that feeling. So what? Im very positive much of the time, I don't expect miracles. But after a run of 16 league matches without a win I find it inconceivable (personally) how anybody can possibly be one bit upbeat at the moment. After the Torquay match I was positive, then what happened? Its a consistency thing, lets not forget the manor in which we last earned 3 points. Liverpool away was followed by 5 successive defeats after we had beaten Bradford. I/we have seen it happen now for 42 games and cup matches. A good performance followed by crap. Has the team got it in themselves to pull of a win on Friday? I bloody hope so but I have serious doubts. Bauza's goal was class though, super move...just seen it on the BBC site.

Only one thing matters now: survival. Saturday's draw was a step closer to that objective. Until that objective is achieved we have to stay positive, and harping on about some irrelevant record is not going to help.

I don't give a monkeys if we break the record winless streak; the only record I care about is this: 100+ years of league football - that's the one we need to preserve.

I think Drilling is merely voicing the feelings of a great many of us, myself included, and I couldn't give a sh*t whether these feelings are voiced now, tomorrow, next week or next month...

Driller needs to realise that he shouldn't be at all worried about relegation from the football league because it won't happen. That elusive win is coming soon, if not Friday, then Easter Monday, or maybe Stevenage at home, possibly Morcambe away. If we win none of these then he should be happy in the knowledge that four draws from our final four games should see us through.  If the unthinkable happens then we will come back stronger after 4 or 5 years of playing Barrow, Forest Green and Farnboro. He mustn't forget the big derby days with Kettering and Rushden or when Cambridge come to town and we give Courtney Herbert a big welcome home.

Things will be ok Driller, we may have only won 30 odd matches in 2 1/2 seasons but 'GJ' is here, things are gonna be just fine.
