When my little girl was at nursery I'd drop her off and then come home and have breakfast while watching the BBC Breakfast programme. Around that time they started to follow Rob Burrow's story and one of the presenters got really close to him and his family. It's always been really moving watching them as this horrible disease took hold and he faced every challenge with courage, humility and humour.
Each time they featured him it was shocking how much he had deteriorated since you'd last seen him and a particularly memorable moment came when they showed his incredible wife just scoop a once stocky man up into her arms and carry him like a baby.
The work he and Kevin Sinfield have done to raise money for MND is inspirational and the centre they are starting work on today for MND sufferers is a fitting memorial.
And as an aside, doesn't everyone deserve a friend like Kevin Sinfield? That man deserves a knighthood
Moving words and as Manny said a truly horrible disease - such a brave man, together with his family and friends - I’d love our religious types (whoever your imaginary god happens to be) to explain how these deities of supposed love and peace allow such wicked diseases happen - and not the usual bollocks of testing our faith.

I'd imagine that statements chases off any option for a debate regarding faith. It doesn't sound like you're up for it at all mate 😊 We used to have a chap who posted on here, who worked for an MND charity. I should imagine as tragic as this poor chaps premature death is. Him, his family, and his friends have shone a light on the cruelty of this awful condition. And have most certainly paved the way for better research and services for those currently suffering. And for those as yet undiagnosed. A life taken far too early. But certainly not wasted.

The perfect opportunity to roll this marvellous TV moment out again. https://youtu.be/-suvkwNYSQo?feature=shared

I was living in Germany at the time, a couple of mates had tickets as well, the following few days were 'fun'...
