It boils down to money, there not loaded so the pitch comes second to other things, wouldn't be surprise if they trained on it occasionally too.
If I read it correctly there was a team in the 70's who used to flood their pitch in the days before a game. Cant remember who though.

Disgrace, I don't know how they get away with it... I think a chunk of the pitch set up a half-volley for their lad to smash in the 1st goal! Not that I'm complaining about the outcome yesterday, but it is farsical.
