Do Plymouth have any decent players anymore?
I appreciate that its also due to a points deduction but why would we want to take any players who have just had a poor season and gone down? Remember, Leeds and Southampton have both proved you can stay up even when you start on minus points.
I can see where you're coming from, but MacLean has spent most of the season at Oxford so has not been involved in the relegation, and from what I hear Oxford rate him quite highly. Also, Rory Fallon is an international who has played at the World Cup, despite being NZ he must be a decent player. Most importantly though, Fallon is 6'2, which would hopefully mean that he could be a target man, which we STILL need.

Why would he leave us for a club in the same division, on a similar budget, and where the fans might not be very welcoming of him?
To be fair, some of them have realised that. And, also, when it comes to football fans, people often don't have very realistic expectations when it comes to singings. (See the rumours about Aliadiere last summer and stuff.

It has to be "B" Another big smile on my face. I always get the big decisions right.
Couldn't be happier, you can all blame me if it turns pear shaped. Up next year without a doubt and no need of the play-offs.

Aliadiere was at Middlesborough, but has not had a club at all this season so might be getting desperate now.

Wouldn't worry about any of them joining, they're just joke suggestions that get reeled out every year in these kinds of threads. Christie and Johnson are effectively retired, Jansen is floundering in the Evostik league with Chorley, and Aliadiere would never drop down here.

I think what GJ should be doing is looking through all the players who are out of contract at Plymouth, and if any of them are decent, then Plymouth won't be in a position to keep them so we should snap them up.
I think NZ internation Rory Fallon is out of contract there as well as Oxford loanee Steve MacLean...
GJ has already stated that he really only wants players who live, or are prepared to take up residence, within an hour or so journey of Northampton.

So? How do you know that they aren't willing to move?

Well my guess is that they either already live here or will be prepared to move here if they are to play here.

Not sure if its a 2+2=5, a wishful remark or a real rumour, but ive just been told seeing Calum Davenport next season could be possible.

Well, it's probably more of an educated guess than anything else, as Davenport was last playing for some team in Wooton who play in the same division as the likes of ON Chenecks so he probably doesn't live too far away and is probably desparate to get back into professional football, and if he came here and performed well then we could sell him for a profit or, shockingly, keep him and get promoted.

Wooton Blue Cross. Think he used to live in Bedford, so presumably still local?

I can see where people are coming from with the Davenport rumour - but players using the Cobblers as a step up when coming back from the brink of retirement smacks of the old regime to me. I don't think GJ is into too much risk-taking - although I guess we shall see later today whether this is true with the news regarding Thornton.

Gavin Williams and a Coventry striker expected to sign by the end of the week. Also told that Ryan gilligan alledgedly had a new club sorted out a long while back. Don't know if true but may explain why GJ wanted to move him on. To be fair ryans done nothing wrong and was well within his rights to negotiate with other clubs. Had some decent stuff to say about the club and fans on Twitter so fair play to him and I hope he gets a decent reception from the fans if we cross paths again. Allegedly there was unrest in the dressing room and rumours of cliques if so thank god we've got a strong manager who has sorted it out. I beleive that to be the case Reading between the lines, lots of statements from GJ about people who WANT to play for the club, shrinking violets etc. At least we will have a unified squad under GJ and that can only be a plus. Traditionally strong leadership breeds successful teams. Let's hope that's the case.
