Goalie pulled off some blinding saves, also Rose and few others did catch eye. But Portuguese showed some class. Not a bad game at all. Sammo in stands, and laods of scouts Lew Fuscillo (luton), Dearden etc.

Well FA have to re-coup their losses somehow, so why not sting a non-league team? after they had to dispose of the 70,000 incorrectly worded flags at their flagship match: The 2 options were Stoke v Man Utd OR Man City v Bolton!!

Buyer beware - Check your flag on Thursday Roger!
Its the Conference who fix the prices not the FA

Preston edwards was quite well thought of at millwall at one point. He used to turn into a beast on champ manager, although it was a millwall fan who told me he was gonna be good in real life.

I popped along to the game to see what the best of the conference had to offer and was amazed at how poor they were. We were almost playing at that level next season, thank f*** we managed to avoid the drop. I'd have been suicidal by October if we had a team of that standard. Certainly none of the English team looked good enough to step up to the league. The Potuguese however, were a different story. A team made up of youth players from the top sides in Portugal and at least 2 of them supposedly being followed by prem teams.

In the first half a couple of FA blokes sat behind me and i was listening in to their conversation and apparently the Potuguese captain (whoever the number 3 was) is valued at 7m euros and Man City are sniffing around whilst the number 7 (who was man of the match) is being tracked by Everton.

During the 2nd half Gary Thompson sat behind me with Aaron O'Connor and the chat was all about O'Connor being the number 1 target for Coops. Coops i assumed to be Mark Cooper at Darlo as he was being asked if he wouldnt mind moving. They then got talking about Rushden and O'Connor said that he has stayed away and doesn't give a toss what happens there now. Just like the rest of us then.  Grin
