Off to Manchester myself next Friday to see Green Day at Emirates Old Trafford. Better take some wet weather clothing?

Yes Comrade, that's the one. Seems to be in working order now.
I was there last weekend watching the Eagles. It's a.really nice venue and organisation around parking and entry was superb (although it was a bit more of a free for all on exiting the car park!) Probably best to eat either before or after the show though- 9 quid for a hot dog!

James were of course superb and the acoustics there are amazing. Everything was well organised now it is up and running. Loads of space out the back, minimal queues for facilities. Of course the food and drink was rip off prices, £9 for a beer, £3.60 for a small can of water. I wasn't searched on my way in, so I am going to see if I can smuggle my own bottle of water in on Tuesday when I am back there for The Killers.

Going to see Fat Whites at co-op in July. Looking forward to some hard core shenanigans of a French bent.

Two great concerts in a week. Firstly The Darkness at Warwick Castle last Thursday and then ZZ Top + Rival Sons (what a fabulous band they are) at Wembley Arena last night. Oh, with Great Van Fleet at the Royal Albert Hall to come on Sunday. Life is good at the moment.

Saw Travis and the Killers, followed by Nile Rodgers at the weekend. All killers no fillers.

Totally missed the game because I was at Royal Albert Hall watching Greta Van Fleet. What a fabulous venue with a brilliant band - a great experience. They played for around 3 hours in two sessions and the time just flew past. Knew we had not won the game as the streets were eerily quiet in London when we came out of the Hall!

Oasis on repeat
I can imagine that between now and then there'll be a lot of will they won't they, it's off, it's on, perfect for generating lots of publicity. I'm very cynical in my older age...

Yes, I saw them in Osnabruck on that tour... still got the sweatshirt. As the trend in the 80s was for a tighter fit, Im assuming that said sweatshirt no longer gets used? None of my tour shirts fit any more, they must have shrunk in the wash..

Im all about doing lists right now
It's maybe a substitute for writing xmas lists when I was young.
This year
Pet Shop Boys - excellent as always Toye Sivan - I was the oldest there! Marc Almond - What a voice The Libertines - Surprised m they were superb
and at Coventry Godiva Festival £35 for the three nights!!
The Primitives - Ok Richard Ashcroft - fantastic Oasis need to watch out next year he might blow them away as support Sam Ryder - Don't really get him Paloma Faith - dreadful Brand New Heavies - brilliant Beverley Knight - What a voice and stage presence.
Tip Look out for Coventry Godiva Festival tkts for next year. It will probably the last year the council here will subsidise it. Acts announced new year
Not a bad line-up for a year?

Beverley Knight - What a voice and stage presence.
Saw her in the West End in the Bodyguard. Probably the best singing performance I have seen. Good enough to go and see her on tour at the Derngate which was funny. As soon as she came our she yelled "Get up! This is not a sit down concert" and you could hear the audible groans and creaky knees of the older crowd reluctantly rising from their seats, including my mum. On topic, I bit the bullet and shelled out to see ELO in Manchester next year. Jeff Lynne has to be propped up these days but I love their full back catalogue (the tribute band are incredible, probably better than the actual band!) but I have never seen them and this will definitely be the last chance.
