I think that this tweet says that Ryan Gilligan has gone to IK Brage , on a free transfer. I could be wrong though.  Cheesy

Are you suggesting that GJ is not the honest, genuine, down the line kind of chap that we all think he is?  Shocked

That same GJ was on Sky Sports' preview program tonight trying to dampen expectations on this season - not exactly like him is it?

Liam Davis...just shows what a kin' clown GJ was....

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/13392314

Northampton Town midfielder Liam Davis is set to leave Sixfields when his contract expires at the end of May.

Boss Gary Johnson had previously said he was undecided on the 24-year-old's future, but he now becomes the 10th player to leave the club this summer.

The former Coventry man has played 91 times since arriving from the Ricoh Arena in 2008, scoring nine goals.

"He has given three years' service to the club and we wish him well for the future," Johnson told the club website.

"But it is another opportunity for us to bring a fresher look to the squad, and it is clear that we do need to bring new players in."

http://www.ciderspace.co.uk/ASP/news/news.asp?NewsItemId=19929

Yeovil Town manager Gary Johnson believes that the club's latest signing Liam Davis could begin to shine at Championship level. Having been on the books of Northampton Town and Oxford United in recent seasons, the 26 year old agreed a two year deal at the club this week, and will compete for places down the left flank of the pitch.

Johnson worked with the player at Sixfields during his time as the Cobblers first team manager, and has told BBC Somerset that he thinks that giving the player a chance at the higher level will allow him to break through as an individual:

"He's a good player and I think he needs this level to show his true colours. I think he deserves to be at this level. I have worked with him before at Northampton and he was one of our best players, so whenever he didn't play, you were always disappointed because you knew that he could make a difference. So I had the opportunity of signing him over the last few days, and as long as he passes his medical, which I know he will, we've got a great addition to the squad."

Johnson added that it was necessary to add players like Davis to his squad, despite having clear first team options with the likes of Jamie McAllister and Alan Tate in the left-back slot, because of the wear'n'tear injuries that began to materialise at the back end of last season. He felt it would be unreasonable to expect the same players to do that again at Championship level, and so has opted for a larger squad. He said that in Davis, the club were getting a player with plenty of legs:

"He's very athletic; he's got that good Championship athleticism, and he'll certainly bring good competition to the squad. That's what we need at this level. We absolutely killed some players last season when they played week-in, week-out because of out small squad, and I couldn't put seven subs on the bench on many occasions. But this season we're going to have to make sure that we've got a squad that's ready to compete."
