Crawley Town Football Club is delighted to confirm that striker Caleb Chukwuemeka has joined the club on loan for the remainder of the season with an obligation to buy.

Chukwuemeka started his career at Northampton Town and joined Corby Town on loan in February 2020, where he made three appearances in the league, scoring once. Caleb made his senior debut for Northampton Town in September 20202 as a late substitute in a 2-2 draw with AFC Wimbledon before starting his first match for the club four days later in a 4-0 Carabao Cup defeat to Bristol City. Chukwuemeka scored his first league goal later that month with Northampton's third goal in a 3-2 victory over Wigan Athletic in October 2021.

In August 2021, Chukwuemeka signed for Premier League Aston Villa for an undisclosed fee. Caleb entered the Villans Academy. Caleb made his Aston Villa debut as a substitute for his brother Carney in a 6-0 EFL Cup victory over Barrow. He was awarded the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award in September 2021, having scored five goals in three matches.

More recently, Chukwuemeka had a short loan spell with Scottish Premiership side Livingston.

Speaking on Caleb’s move to the Reds, Kevin Betsy said: “Caleb is a player that I have known for some time. This is a real coup for the club, given the level of interest in his talents from a higher level. A versatile forward who can play anywhere across the front line. He will be a threat for us, and we look forward to welcoming him to the club. We thank Aston Villa for their support in this deal. It shows that we have the trust of some big Premier League clubs in their younger players.”

I'm pleased about that. He always looked half decent so it's good to see one of our youngsters find their way back into the league.

Interesting to see Telford has already found his was to Crawleys bench. A similar marquee signing to Hylton!

I like the quote above about trust. To me it shows they just want rid of the guy ASAP and hope Crawley take up the option to buy.

Saw that Junior Morais has signed for Notts County recently. Ran about a lot for us during his brief spell with us a bit like Waters but never really good enough in my view. What do I know about football though as I support the Teyn

If you want a laugh, go read the Crawley Town forum and their thoughts on star striker Caleb Chukwuemeka  Grin

https://ctfcfansforum.freeforums.net/thread/2501/barrow-official-matchday-thread-easter?page=6

He was brought in from the cold to start this afternoon, these player ratings made me chuckle, No 50 is Celeb btw...still can't believe we got 300K from Villa for him...Crawley still have an agreement to buy him permanently from Villa at the end of the season, so we've probably got a small sell on from that too...

Can't wait for Crawley to get relegated!

Addai- 6/10. Did ok, came out his goal a few times to good effect, but doesn’t command his area at all

Ransom- 5/10 beat in the air time and time again

Johnson- 2/10 out of his depth at centre half.

Mazeed- 6/10 tried to be positive on the ball, but nothing came off for him

Powell- 4/10 tried to play the ball forward at least, but too many long aimless balls and takes 3 business days to pass the ball sometimes

Roles- 3/10 wouldn’t even get in the Eastbourne or Worthing team. Totally out of his depth at this level

Mason- 4/10 tried to come forward from fall back, but too weak and doesn’t get stuck in

Nadesan- 2/10 sometimes you wonder what’s the point of him being out there, lazy, sulky and half hearted when things don’t go his way

No.50- -1 out of 10. Worse than Mark Wright. A total fraud of a player. Not a professional footballer. Looked like a drunk who was running around in a Crawley shirt for a joke.

Telford- 4/10 again anonymous out there. What more can you say.

Tilley- 3/10 nothing came off for him, gave the ball away multiple times. Looked off the pace.

Grant- 3/10 didn’t look up to speed at all, game passed him by

Rest cannot be bothered to look up/ hardly played

Hahaha!

Waters to Wrexham.  Although his presence is still deep.

Barnet now have a choice of 4 ex-Cobblers front men:

Big Harry - blasting them in when he is fit.
Mayo - (on loan from Barrow - and ready to re-join NTFC) best with Tuna.
Kabamba...  maybe 20 this season, when he is fit again?
Powell.... a long time out, and (injury aside) one o fthe best players I have seen this side of McGoldrick & Morley).
