Just beat me to it there, I don't think anyone will be sad over this news, one down two to go.

Was McCready on hefty wages? Im assuming that was why we shifted him to Tranmere last season, and he was dire might have been another.

We are going to need a new centre half that can actualy play there, unless sammo is going to risk playing the youth, definately need one if Hinton leaves as well.

Hinton wasn't as bad as some made out last season and if push comes to shove he's still got another season in him I reckon.

Isnt Holt and Harris the backfill for that position not counting Hinton as you mentioned may not feature.

No disrespect to Holt and Harris, really like them.but they are not central defenders.both bloody good in the air though, not sure about positioning.Maybe a loanee might come in should Hinton leave?

Nice to see a manager prepared to get rid of the dross rather than just leaving them in the corner to go stale. Results will be the deciding factor, but Sammo really is proving to be quite impressive in his off-the-field dealings.

Remember McCready was a late panic buy from Gray so the wages may have been decent. If McCready can get a club there is hope Guinan and Hinton will follow suit......then we can get in a decent targetman!

To be fair he was bad at a time where most of them where truely awful.  Things improved later in the season after the intro of Sammo and Crosby and some players manged to change opinions.  He may have been able to as well if not for his injury.  Was playing in a higher league than Cobblers last year so he clearly has some talent.  Good luck to him.  Would be good if Hinton and Guinan now follow suit.  Both could be squad players but very expensive I imagine and after been transfer listed it is always best if they move on.

only for 6 months, and only played 8 games according to the beeb webbo..........so he wasnt a regular.

still a division higher though granted.

just shows that centre halves at this level are ten a penny.

He was on good wages because I remember the Tranmere manager stating that the only way that they could afford his loan at the time was because we contributed towards it financially...

Both Hinton and Guinan can still contribute as I see things. McCready couldn't, he was shot to bits and needed a move no less than we needed him to move. I thought he was s*** so Im happy he's gone, but wish him the best at his new club. Probably a case of wrong club wrong time as far as his Sixfield's experience was concerned.
