Has anybody heard anything about the Torquay tickets?

Me mate has just got back from our Club Shop and they have told him that Torquay are only allocating us 200 tickets.

The bloke at the shop said that Torquay had told them they weren't expecting us to bring anymore???

Could this be true, have others heard similar?

I'm pretty certain we would take more than 200.

I'll be there  Grin

I have just phoned our ticket office to clarify my earlier post and Torquay are only sending us 200 seated tickets.

When i pointed out to our new Commercial Manager that Torquay also had terracing, he didn't know anything about that....

Sounds as if, he thought (and told customers) that the 200 tickets being sent were their full allocation to us.

What Is It Like For Visiting Supporters?
Around 1,100 away supporters can be accommodated in the Sparkworld Away Stand, at one end of the ground. The club also makes 200 seats available to away supporters in the covered Main Stand.

Yeah so we are being send 200 seats, and we have that terrace behind the goal. I reckon we will take around 500, maybe even more.

I seem to recall it was pay on the door at Torquay last year.

I phoned Torquay this morning who clarified that the terracing would be open as normal, and what was being sent to NTFC was just the seating allocation.

Shame our own ticketing department couldn't have done this before giving false information out.

There is still nothing on the official site so the false info may only be party to a few people

Danny, you're way out of date - the club shop is the ticket office and vice versa these days!

Definitely pay on the gate, as always, down there.

I'd guess we'll take around 600.

Why were people even worried about this? Why on earth would they close a terrace for the first game of the season limiting the away team to 200 places in August at Torquay? Some people just get worried about the most stupid of things!

..Yeah but...with the all the positive sounds coming from the friendlies, there has been a steady build up of interest and optimism among Cobblers fans. Given the fact that it's first day of the season..the location (English Riviera)..scorching hot weather predicted, as well as travel firms going bust - leaving holidaymakers with no option but to salvage some kind of holiday by killing two birds with one stone..hols n footie..adds up to the Cobblers taking in excess of 1000 fans down to the South coast. Even if the away terrace and seating capacity  isn't breached - the inept stewards at Torquay won't be ready for such numbers - causing untold delays and frustration gaining entry..if at all! Be worried..very worried!
