That said seems like Purcell won the penalty and set up their other goal last night  Wink

I would like to see him return and given a chance, but I very much doubt that he will due to the apparent prejudice against people who weren't signed by GJ. It would be fantastic if he went to Darlo and recaptured that form that made us sign him in the first place!

GJ has signed too many players so getting rid of Bas and keeping Purcell would be a prudent move.

From what I've read he's been way off the pace at Darlington. Was dropped to the bench tonight and wasn't brought on despite them losing. Might be case of him not being able to get time there and having to drop down a bit further.

I don't he's got much of a future here in any case, and I think that has been the case for quite awhile now.

He hasn't been drawing in the crowds either - 671 there tonight.  Might have been a spare seat or two.

Wow 671, in a stadium that holds 25,000?  Shocked ...not surprised and truly staggered at the same time!

There must have been some boycott or something surely?? Their crowds have been hovering around the 2000 mark for most of the season, ok they're on a bad run at the moment but 671???
Maybe all their fans went up the road to Gateshead, as they pulled in almost three times that figure for their game tonight.
Still in the North-East I've noticed that Hartlepools attendances have increased from around 3000 average last season to over 5000 this season.
Maybe Darlo just isn't the place to be!!

I think Darlington's move to such a big stadium actually hasnt done them any favours whatsoever, its must be such a soulless place to play your football in. I have a feeling that had they still been at the much more modest surroundings of Feethams, they'd probably still be playing in the football league - never an easy place to get a result.

The official match report says 1,671 of which 38 were visitors.....the stats page shows 671!

........ bit of a 'cobblers' reunion when Darlo played Newport. Newport had Glyn Thompson, Paul Rodgers & Ryan Gilligan all in their side.
