The Cobblers have been placed in the NORTH-EAST section of the draw for the Johnstones Paint Trophy!!! I know people think Northampton in in the East...but really? The North-East?? In the same section as Hartlepool, Lincoln and Sheffield Wednesday to name but three! Somehow the appeal of an away game in the first round at poxy Hartlepool does not inspire me!

On the other hand, a trip to Hillsborough would be brilliant!

On the other hand, a trip to Hillsborough would be brilliant! This is true!! Chesterfield, Harltepool, Lincoln, Notts County, Rotherham, Wednesday and Walsall in the draw with us...... of course being in the Northern Section for the first time (?) means a bit more travelling if we progress and get away draws!

Saves having to play the same old teams year in year out. Gets a bit boring playing Millwall every year?

Tough teams there ....all of them. Hilsborough in front of 4500 would be funnier than when we went to Leeds in front of 9000 in the FA Cup!

I take it that I'm the only one happy with this and am looking forward to an away tie. Hartlepool away will really show who is hardcore.

It's s***, but when you look at the teams, we had to be in the Northern section. We have been shifted mainly becuase Grimsby and Darlo went down, with Stevenage and Oxford coming up.
Lets just hope we are at home all the way through. You could proberly count our away fans using fingers and toes if we get Hartlepool away.

Actually many of teh big clubs coming down will take the competition seriously- Southampton played full strength teams in every round in last season's JPT, and Norwich got higher attendances for JPT games than some league games. The big clubs coming down to this level, and their fans, often don't realise it's a "mickey mouse" trophy to everyone down here.
