I believe Johnson needs to put 2 up front from start to support bayo with help up top as wingers struggle to help in 4-3-3. My team for tomorrow would be if all fit: goalie: walker, defence: Johnson, langmead, Westwood, crocker, centre mid: tozer, davies, wingers: Jacobs, young, forwards: Jackson, bayo
I believe Johnson will go with 4-5-1 from start with jackson on bench again but what do anyone think the team should be?

Would have Tozer at left back instead of Corker with Baldock replacing Tozer in midfield.

Corkers been solid for the last 2 games and offers balance that only a left footed left back can. To drop him would be folly, thankfully Johnson will stick with the side from the 2nd half at Barnet. Personally I'd leave Jacobs out, rather than Young, doubt it'll happen though, but that kid hasn't had a good game all season, not even at Kingstonian, although, the chron alleged it was a "wonder show" from the youth team product, it was average at best, just aided by ropey keeping.

I agree with corker offering balance but I have this feeling he will use Jackson as a impact sub most games which would be a.waste of a good player. Also didn't we just get a player in who can play left back and left midfield so might see at start from him hopefully for jacobs as he needs a kick up the ass and a reality check. He never tracks the forward thinking full backs on other teams and that shot that hit post for Barnet was him putting no effort in tracking or blocking effort.

4-5-1 is 4-3-3 with more defensive wing halfs.

Jacobs was absolutely brilliant against Wimbledon. He did a great job of venting pressure building in our box, sprayed some lovely passes and scored 2 goals. You're talking boll*cks.

I'd play Jackson on the wing in a 4-5-1. He can then move up front if needs be. I like his direct approach. Walker Johnson Westwood Langmead Corker Jackson Davies Tozer Robinson Jacobs Bayo

I still prefer 4-4-2 with our current squad. Especially playing at home.

...and Jackson did have a cracking 2nd half at Barnet. Replace Robinson with Baldock and that will be it...which means that Young misses out.

I'm afraid I'm not. He constantly gives the ball away,is to predictable when running with the ball, and to be fair, at least 1 of those goals was an own goal by there GK,in all but name. Jacobs is comfortably the most overrated player in our current squad.

Shockingly, I have to agree with Baby Bear. Jacobs has been well below par this season- he's just going through the motions and has the body language of someone who thinks they've done the hard work and is now just waiting for their big move. You've had one good full season, Michael. One. You've still got plenty to prove.

Why on earth would you want us to play 4-5-1 again? We've been woeful on most occasions when we've gone with this formation. We need to be playing at least two up front in our home matches. Jake Robinson in centre mid. Please tell me you're joking

I should imagine it will somewhat resemble the team that ended at Barnet. Unfortunately I have no idea what that was as I was away for the weekend, and so relied on the Crapicle & Echo for my match report. According to said news(?)paper, we only started with nine players, both Jacobs and Davies appearing twice on the teamsheet

Jeff lake just tweeted that Davies is a major doubt for tomora, which would mean Jacobs really needs to step it up tomora, he probably will for the TV, then be back to drifting at Port Vale......

I know this sounds a bit basic, but as long as the team GJ selects delivers 3 points I don't much care which players do it, how they do it, or where they play. More than anything else the club needs to get to the right end of the table, and stay there. Once there we can then allow the pleasurable luxury of talking about playing attractive football too, but we're a long way yet off being a good team that plays thrilling football. Stevenage last season were a prime example of a side with no style but plenty of delivery and ox-like power. Look where they are now compared to us! I can't really remember the last game where we actually played exciting and attractive football but I'm prepared to stay bored and go without for a bit longer, I've got good money on us for promotion.
