My Grandad used to tell a story that the old town of Skegness was four miles out to sea nearer the Burgh Le Marsh area & you could hear the bell of the church bonging when the waves came in at night.

I think I'll support Oxford United this year as my non-league team. It's going to be fun watching them at Tamworth, Eastbourne Borough and the like.

As per last season I’ll also be watching a lot of Hitchin Town games. They’ll be playing in the Southern League Central Division next season, as they did last year when they amassed 100 points and still didn’t go up.

Former Cobblers who have also played for Hitchin include Robin Wainwright in the 70’s, Peter Gleasure, Ken Gillard, David Hicks and Jamie Arlick who was their top scorer last season with over 30 goals.

I used to watch Salisbury when they used to play in Victoria Park with a rope around the pitch.  Wink
Then they moved to Old Sarum and took half of our ground.....not a bad little ground now.

Salisbury City have demoted to the Southern Lge Premiar Divison by the Conference, means they will be playing some of our local teams, Bedford,Brackley & Banbury

I'll kick off the season reporting that Hitchin lost 5-1 to neighbours Luton on Thursday night in front of nearly 900. Luton fielded their first team for the majority of the game. Former youth team Cobbler Jamie Arlick featured for Hitchin

I'd probably say all of the smaller Northamptonshire sides are my favourite non-league teams (Rubbish & Dustbins aside), I'd say Kettering are my favourite, followed by Corby & Long Buckby. Smiley

My lad played against Wellingborugh Town's U13 team at the Dog and Duck today. I was sat in the Peter Ebdon stand (he is also club president) it got me thinking that maybe I should have WTFC as my non league team. The ground is not much further away from me than Sixfields is so I could even watch them during the season when Cobblers are playing away

Has he signed for them? At that level, I'd say thats a quality signing if he has.

Hasn't yet, but would be a cracking signing if he did. Good replacement for Gavin Johnson.

Drew 3-3 at Leiston at the weekend
