I wonder why he couldn't get a club during the summer.

Pretty sure we had him on trial back in 1998/9. Saw him play for us v Spurs at St Albans. Chris Greenacre scored and Moussa Saib scored a hat-trick.

Walker has let in far far too many goals, it's up to Boothroyd to determine what how much the chelsea man is to blame. I'd rather have someone here full time.

I've seen almost all those goals, and I'd say he's to blame for two of them, tops.

AB obviously disagrees! Walker has returned to Chelsea and Higgs handed the #1 shirt

Fair enough, but Sam Walker was by no means the biggest of our problems.

He looks a bit 'Lee Harper' heavy to me.

Agree. If Sam was seen to be not good enough, then I would expect to see a general clearout. Hope it works out better than the one in the summer.

In my humble opinion I feel this is a smart move and in fact ab might not just be looking after the interest of the cobblers but also walker I'd hate to see his loan to us to brake him he is young but full of potential a vastly experienced hardened pro who has played at the sharp end of the game, a dominant talker who organises the 10 in front him is whats required at the minute

In my opinion for what its worth, not a lot I know, this is just the sort of signing Del boy should have made in the summer. When looking around for experienced quality signings for goalkeeper/defensive positions that could have been made his name stood out like a sore thumb. O.K. he didn't pull up any trees while at Leeds but he was a solid enough keeper for Cheltenham and did well enough for a big club to come running. And before someone suggests otherwise, 34 is no age for a keeper, he's just learnt the game and could put in several solid years yet.
This unique position on the field of play is best filled by someone with experience. Walker did well enough but it was clear to all he was here to gain experience. Better to make your mistakes while learning the game in league 2 for some nondescript side than make them in the premiership.

Good luck to the man.
Given his injury nightmare, let's hope he's a Gabor Gyepes and not a Damian Matthew (ignoring their relative playing positions to make the allegory work).

This lad had better be as good as he used to be, as Walker was very decent at our level.
I'm sure Higgs has got the attributes to organise the defence and has leadership qulities too, lets just hope he still has the ability to keep the ball out the net.

A record for the quickest goal conceded for a debutant keeper?

Should've saved the first one, did great thereafter.

A very good debut after the worst possible start for a keeper - picking the ball out of the net being your first touch for a new club can't be how you hope to get underway!

Four outstanding saves, I thought - and looks as though he has plenty of confidence and the defenders had confidence in him. Very promising.

Agreed, I hope he is not going to continue to punch the ball away quite so much though.

Had no chance for the first one and dealt brilliantly with their good set piece deliveries, got no idea what you two above are talking about.
