.....i'm just a bit worried about the quality of player we're bringing in. Now I know this has been covered on other threads but DC has stated that he'll back AB to bring in a better quality of player. From what I saw of Guttridge(when fit) during his previous spell here, he's the right type of player. However, AB mentions bringing in 2-3 new players before the deadline. With Guttridge being one of those and Doig likely to be another, that means one more signing. Now with questions being raised about Doig, in relation to his fitness and pace, will he be any better than what we've already got?

I can't help feeling that it's all a little anti climatic after the build up of the last few days. DC mentioned in the web chat that Steve Howard is the quality of player we're interested in. I'd say that the signings so far are nowhere near his standard. Just a thought... Undecided

Shot's fans on Twitter are saying that quality wise Guttridge was by far their best so I don't think you'd have much to worry about.

Apart from Osman I don't think we've had a decent centre mid since Guttridge left?

I think he will pick out passes to Said and Asante's feet more than anyother midfielder and won't be afraid to pick the others up around him when we inevitably concede a goal, he'll keep going for 90 minutes (especially now he seems to overcome injury).

I'd be amazed if many on here were happy with the signings so far. I appreciate that being bottom of the league, we're not exactly in a position to attract much in terms of quality, but the club has a habit of raising supporters expectations in recent years only for us to be let down by poor signings. It doesn't mean I won't be chuffed if we manage to finish 22nd with this lot, but how many of you are filled with confidence following the signings so far?

Are they really good enough to make the impact required to turn around our season. Only time will tell..

So you think there's something wrong with signing a player who up until this season was a championship number one? Do you think there's something wrong with having one of the best players from a club above us? AB is signing a team to get us up and out of this s*** division. These players are proving that fact beyond belief.

These players have proved fcuk all so far. Very naive post imo Towcester, although we all have our own opinions.

From what I understand, Weale is unlikely to be here until the end of the season, hence why were attempting to sign another keeper. Very good signing for the short term though. The jury is out on Guttridge. I hope I'm proved wrong, I really do. I'll back whoever we sign, and get behind the team. I just have my reservations that the players who have come in are good enough to improve results sufficiently for us to pull away from this mess.

As I say, only time will tell. Good luck today lads, I've put a £20 bet on an away win at 7/2  Shocked more fool me..
