I for one thought he was wrong when he said publicly that Ian Atkins should be sacked, no matter fans views on the subject were at the time, it was a grave error on his part and he should not have said it.

Easier to be negative than be positive though. The reasons for dislike given so far are pretty weak. A badge and a comment about Ian Atkins...

Who? 1 for the team or Tony Clarke?
Not Tony Clarke. OK?

How is the badge a negative comment? I think it's a positive sign off for him to realise he made an error with Pokemon and help in re-nstating the old badge!!

It is fine to either support, or not support TC. But stay away from anything contentious or this thread will go folks.
Left wing fascists confuse me. Right wing fascists not quite so much. Have I posted this in the right section?

And of course, no I am no longer on the board. I can come on here and set a few of you straight on a few things!!
But to be honest the standard has dropped so much it seems as if only a few sensible posters have remained, oh and to really spoil your dinner, lets talk about the badge!
Over the last few years I have had to put up with lazy commentary on everything from what I earned to what I had for breakfast.
Seriously you guys if your going to abuse me, at least have the decency to come up with good and valid reasons for doing so rather than relying on hearsay and vulgarity.
I will however remain loyal to the club and feel that recently this board has done its best to destroy itself by allowing a small minority to use it as an extention of their own over inflated egos. Its supposed to be a Cobblers message board but most of the posts are personal attacks on individuals who can't answer back!
Well now I can and as always you will never find me short of a response, even if you don't like it.

You never got round to talking about the badge Tony Am I correct in thinking you gave it a thumbs up when I spoke to DC about it in an attempt to over inflate my ego lol? Blimey, I'll go pop soon...

Glen, at the risk of spoiling forever a good urban myth the "as was" new badge was really chosen by the whole board after the fans vote came out heavily in favour of the design that was chosen. Some will never want to believe it but the truth however boring is still the truth.
I of course defended the clubs position (because they were right) and also took the flak as General Manager, that went with the job. I don't have to now which will really spoil everyones fun!
As to reverting back to the old badge again you are right. It was the right time to review it. you of course had a big input on that and the kit, myself and David spoke about it and our supplier said they could get over the problems we had in the past and then the board agreed (yes with my support) to change it back.
It wasn't the first time the badge has changed in the clubs history and I guess it won't be the last, but for some the issue became almost a matter of life changing proportions!
I guess some of us need to get out more. As to your ego, you have nothing to worry about mate in the company of others on this board!

Ummm! Well I can't deny I think it's the right move for the club, if overdue, and hopefully TC. I have never envied anyone the role of being a Director of this club. I think Tony knows I disagreed with a number of the things he actioned in his time as General Manager, but then disagreements are often what makes the world go round.
Tony I hope, when the time is right, you can make a difference to the development plans not just for Sixfields but the town but please don't upset too many people by being too outspoken along the way. I think you know as well as most that often sleeping with the enemy can be more constructive than fighting them. That said I know first hand that when your passionate about something it's hard to control the words.
Ummm, does that sound like a lecture lol
Anyway Tony I wish you well with the Football in the Community work and whatever else you choose to do.
