I nearly posted something similar after Tuesday. I foolishly sat there for a change of scenery, which was probably a similar experience to a 50 year old walking into a Bridge Street pub on a Saturday night for a game of dominos, although most of them wouldn't get into a pub. I think most people at that end are also loosely related to each other. The second half I moved towards the other end which has a far better standard of moaning f*ckers.

I sit in this part of the ground, have done for the last couple of season's, and to be honest the atmosphere up there I find you cannot odd's, some games it can be excellent - Notts County last season I remember was a great atmosphere, Bradford last season too, I think it tends to depend on who the visitors are, and how many they bring, the importance of the game which brings the best out of our fan's. Accy Brought f*** All yesterday, and I'm not being funny, but when 10 fans's are attempting to give it the biggun, you glance across and think, is it really worth responding, fair play Accy made a fair amount of noise for their piss poor following, but really, they looked and sounded quite pathetic to me, and I don't think you can blame our crowd for not really wanting or finding a need to respond to them. The North is like a morge at the best of times, and we cannot hear an F'ing thing from the west, so in that respect, there are a few in the west who will at least attempt to get some kind of atmosphere going, not very affective too often, but at least they try! However - As far as who and what tends to sit up their also, Indeed I would be the first to admit that some of the youngun's who sit up there need to Fook Off and go and sit in the east where they would be more suited based on their age and intelect, their voices not having broke and who are clearly still going through puberty! Llast season's home game against Bury I can honestly say that our fan's or not, I could have smashed a few of them for acting and looking like complete and utter C**ts! I had the Legendary Tyro with me yesterday in the west upper - No shoe's were lost Incidentally!

I heard them, I didn't hear the mighty west. So their 10 giving it the biggun beats the mong chorus hands down

Some of you on here really are miserable fcuks... At least there trying to make an atmosphere, take them away and the noise around the ground goes from minimal to none... Would you rather they fcuked off, meaning less bums on seats and less money for the club?

I was re-acquainted with the North Stand today and I quite enjoyed it. I have been mainly in the East Stand for the last few seasons, which is ok from a viewing perspective. The North wasn't exactly rocking today but when we have bigger games and the opposition bring more fans I'm sure it will improve and there was a good crowd around me, no idiots. I just wish we could kick towards the North for the second half, it annoys me when we get turned around.
I think the north has its fair share of morons too tho...

Lets face it chaps....football is not about having an intellectual debate during the match to see which of us has the highest IQ is it?
It's about encouraging your team to victory and making noise to achieve that.
Fair play to Accy again as they had about 10 supporters at the back really trying and we could hear them in the north stand. On occasion we could hear the west, and I don't buy for a minute the west couldn't hear us at all. The ground doesn't make noise echo round because it's too open....
How about this....instead of everyone slagging each other off...why don't we just all try and emulate those 10 from Accy yesterday?
IF ...we actually joined in together...we may actually rub off positively on the team....(haven't these things been said before mmmm deja vu!)
But, then, we're from Northampton...if we cheered the team on and they won...there'd be nothing to moan about.
I am 2 games in and already hacked off with the bitchin'....
JUST BLOODY GET BEHIND THE TEAM AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS!!

I sat North end of west stand 1st half then moved south @ halftime at least there was a bit of banter/atmoshphere . as for the slating of players not my cup of tea but can understand the frustration of the fans and will say its part and parcel imo . some of the players and sammo need to be reminded its not good enough at times !! the level and nature of abuse is the Key I think

Yes. You're all twats.
My season ticket is in the north stand and I weren't even there yesterday, so I dunno how you've worked that one out. Football is hardly renowned for it's well behaved fans, so if your so above it all I'm sure the egg chasers will have you down the road, if not, shut up and be glad that we get a decent attendance even if it consists of some twats.

I sat in the south end of the West and agree that's it has its fair share of idiots.
Even though a few of the fans around me I found annoying in their moronic oppinions they did give it some effort when singing which happens nowhere else in the ground really. It can be great down there on the big games. but ACCY? There was never going to be a great atmosphere.

I was thinking of maybe sitting in the West for my next game at Sixfields (whenever that may be). Quite enjoyed being in there for the Brum game but now I'm starting to think I should just stick in the Dave Bowen (North)

Another thing you have to say about the 'Accy ten' was that there was genuine variey in their choice of songs, even if some of them were largely incomprehensible. At one stage I'm sure I heard them singing 'I, I want to beeeeeeeeeee Acc. Stanley' to the tune of Anarchy in the Uk by the Sex Pistols.
It defintely goes to show that it only takes a small group of fans, if they're concentrated and co-ordinated, to generate a lot of noise.
