14/1 and all we have is a few old journey men on a last meal ticket and a hand full of useless sods who have long contracts to rundown, should be nearer 100/1 and that isn't even good value.

That's because the bookies hope that one season we will live up to the hype and actually produce the goods the squad should be capable of. I remember the 86/87 season they had us at 16-1 after Graham Carr took us to 8th the previous season (I think). I just hope the "Aidy" factor is the reason for the short odds as I think he has the magic to polish a turd  Grin

You can flush a turd down the toilet though, which is hopefully what Aidy is doing by trying to get rid of the likes of Davies, Turnbull etc (not literally of couse!)

You don't want to get too exited about the early odds for next year. The bookies throw out crap odds to see who is fancied by the punters. We'll be at least 20/1 at the start of next season despite the lovely Garth Crook's words of encouragement.

I've back them blindly every year for the last three years and will continue to do so.  Imagine the joy when they storm the league and I pick up a few hundred quid as well. The law of averages suggest I'll be picking up sometime over the next 40 years.

Hmmm, don't jest. I think it took Rochdale over 40 years to get out this division. Poor buggers and now they will be joining us again. Imagine if they have to wait another 40 odd years for a sniff of success....

With the shake up for next season now complete, we can be backed at a best price 20/1, which is around 7th or 8th favourite depending on which bookie you go with.  Rotherham are very short priced favourites with Fleetwood in second spot.

Is it because the more players he signs on a wage off £2000 p/w,  he gets to stuff his own pockets with a 'said' percentage of that the player gives back to him in a brown envelope........ ALLEGEDLY

That's not too bad, but there will be promotion odds fairly soon.
Betting each way is the bookies dream, you will almost certainly waste the winning half and the 1/4 for first 3 is a rip off, why can't they do 1/4 first 4?
