I would only add that the Trust has at least got the attention of the Council. That in itself has not been easy. Translating that attention into action that protects the football club and its long term future is the challenge.
The lure of possible significant financial gain is always likely to distract attention from long term benefit to supporters and the wider community. The danger is that the Council decides a relatively quick financial gain is the determining factor, the fact that the club’s owners acting through another company (CDNL) make big personal profits is secondary and the interests of the football club and its supporters come a distant third. That risk remains as real today as it did before Thursday’s meeting.
