We waste vast amounts of money, as do almost every club, on new players, other clubs players, managers and their back room staff.

If we cut the playing budget by say £50k per year and spent it on visual improvements, would we really notice it on the pitch? I very much doubt it. But if that went on painting the stadium or building a canopy off Carrs Bar or upgrading a catering facility or better ticket cabins or something, we would notice it.

For me it is about feel good factor, a sense of pride. Most of any PR from the club says hashtag proudtobe. I am sorry guys, and I know the club does some amazing work that is really useful and valued, especially the Community Trust, can you walk along the front of the west stand and feel proud?

Walk along there today, have a reason good look at the games, the carrs bar, the fencing, the ticket cabins, the paint etc etc, how does it look.

Now imagine you are not a die hard, claret tinted glasses on fan, you are a casual fan, perhaps on your 5th visit for Sixfields in 3 years, do you get a feel good vibe, club going places, somewhere you want to come back to ?

We all know that the quickest way to get fans in is to play winning, ideally free scoring football, problem is that it is the hardest thing and most expensive way (generally) too. Even when it works for a while, as soon as it drops you a back to square one.

Our attendances have grown slightly over the last 5 years as we have had 2 promotions in that time but more importantly we can grow more.
