Indeed, and broadly what I have been trying to say for months - it's a strange world on the message board merry go round......

Just to clarify, as you obviously can't resist having a bitch about anyone who speaks out against the current ongoing fiasco. Having been cajoled and force fed propaganda for ten plus years, all aimed at supporting the club in its ambitions of having a 15,000 -12,000 -10,000 -9,000 - 8,500 - 8,000 capacity stadium, and a few boxes; supporters of this club have every right to be concerned over the current goings on. However, it seems that you would rather snipe and gripe about the expressing of those concerns which many of your fellow supporters have.
Seriously, rather than continually being so righteous about your opinion above that of the naysayers, take a moment and consider the management of this farce. Then consider some valid questions - such as why was the decision taken to hand the management of the project over to 1st Land, a company with no experience in such matters, but whose owner appears to have very close (familial) ties to somebody who was on the board of County. This is just one issue, but there are many more reasons why (for those with business acumen) it has been obvious from the beginning that something was very wrong here.
And for the record, I, much like the majority, am not anti D.C. He can make a mint for all I care, so long as in doing so he doesn't endanger the future of my football club.
And just to add: If it turns out that anything like 5 million has been spent on the East, and we end up with just a few hundred extra seats; anyone who would be happy with that scenario is a f***ing idiot.
Still, I'll await your condescending reply. I'm sure it makes you feel good.

Seek and ye shall find.
One thing is for sure, if this latest delay results in further legal action, then Big Dave will issue a statement (probably from the broom cupboard), saying "we expected this". Because thats what he does.

I despair; there are so many sheep around here, they better hope Big Dave doesn't turn out to be the Judas Goat.

You tell me I am a '****ing idiot' because I have a different view to yourself.
You only talk about the East Stand development in terms of gaining a few hundred seats but suprising for someone who believes his OPINION is the law fails to mention the revenue gaining 14 executive boxes, the conference facilities and the hotel to follow.
At least as a '****ing Idiot' I look at ALL the items and not selective like you!
Most fans believe whilst the delays are frustrating they are not on the scale of a National scandal as some make out!

Chill out and enjoy any progress at our club.

... the conference facilities and the hotel to follow....

And that's nicely on schedule too, isn't it?! None so blind as those who will not see....

Can I also just add a line of reminder that's relevant to the Rumours thread too: the only reason any of us knows about the involvement of 1st Land is that DC named them publicly at a supporters forum. What's been mentioned subsequently about 1st Land directors is online for everyone to see in company records checks. The implication that we're somehow being unsupportive of DC by mentioning this is frankly bizarre: it was his bag and he let the cat out himself.

After my update yesterday and a chat with my brother I decided to head off to sixfields again and pick up our season tickets (ironically for the East Stand). Having only seen one bloke in the portacabins on my earlier visit, I went inside the main gates again and was surprised to see two workmen on a scaffold painting the white steel framework of the south end of the stand. It was quite surreal as there was no other bugga about that I could see. Very quiet....So I guess its not strictly true that work has stopped completely, some things are being done but the blockwork on the rear wall has stopped and is half finished with pallets of blocks equally spaced ready for brickies to finish it. I think they have been like that for over a week now....time to wait and see what happens. My personal view is that if work was progressing to a tight deadline (and Sept is tight) then the place should be a hive of activity like it was a month ago!!!

Can people stop posting what they've actually seen with their own eyes and just go by what the club say? It upsets some people.

Can people stop posting about what the club has seen with their own eyes and photographed and just go by what some stranger says who drives past the club? Thanks.

Please, nobody stop posting anything. It's all good material for my new book about the Cobblers pre-season - 'Alfie Potter and the Half-built Wall'.

Perhaps we can just watch the Saints' stand being pulled down and replaced with a new one with increased capacity of 1800 to see how it should be done.  Grin

I thought most would have been bright enough to realize my remark about 'a few extra boxes' was a tongue in cheek jibe. Besides, no point my mentioning the hotel and conference centre, as these are currently still just a pipe dream. As for the rest of my post I stick by what I said; especially this bit: If it turns out that anything like 5 million has been spent on the East, and we end up with just a few hundred extra seats; anyone who would be happy with that scenario is a ****ing idiot.

Thanks for the update TC. As you say, it would be reasonable to expect a lot more activity given the deadline. Also, I thought Buckingham were building the east, but all internal work was being carried out by County (certainly over in the West). I doubt Buckingham are involved with any painting of the stadium. Lips Sealed
