Two days left for completion then cobblerron?..

The Chron is saying 4 weeks to completion of the takeover and that the new owners are looking at putting temporary seats in the East while proper plans are made. Sounds dodgy. We don't really have a capacity problem as such so why waste money on temporary seating? My suspicion is any temporary seats won't be all that temporary and we'll have a shell of a stand with some manky seats in for the foreseeable future!

Two days left for completion then cobblerron?.. Well Cobblerron's credibility has been blown out of the water! The Chron says "at least 4 weeks", Cardoza says "hopeful of within 4 weeks".......and it's "the consortium" who want to put the temporary seats in? Why? As said, they're not necessarily needed, and it seems to be a great length to go to seeing as the relevant certificates, safety work etc would have to be carried out. I do hope that all works out well in the end but am not in the least surprised to see the goalposts have moved....AGAIN!!

I'm more looking at it that yet again Cardoza's timeframes have become completely unrealistic, weeks ago he was close to giving us a completion date, now they are 4 weeks away from getting any closer. The longer this goes on the more possible it is that DC is using this situation as yet another smoke screen to his incapability to progress the club. The consortium want temporary seats - the 'temporary' seats get installed - consortium walk away - DC leaves the 'temporary' seats in their place and blames everything on the consortium that never was. Call me cynical but you'd have to be pretty daft not to be with the amount of tripe DC has tried feeding us! All this article tells us is quotes from Clown Cardoza so to me it is not news or credible.

If you're positive on here you're Satan.... Oh and that towel deal.... The club said they wouldn't produce them as there was no demand. I sold 500..... Lol

Temporary seats do not make good sense to me. Surely there is a hire, installation and dismantle cost. On top of which, they have to be installed on concrete terracing...? I'm no expert, but temporary seating is usually scaffolding structure on flat ground. It is probably possible, but could get a bit more expensive.
It would make more sense to buy the NEW SEATS and fix them on the terracing. They can then be taken away and stored if needs be when construction/demolition restarts. They can then be simply bolted back in position when the rest of the construction is completed. Or used in the West or South Stand - because those seats were going to be replaced weren't they!!!
Okay, perhaps DC/County/NTFC don't have the cash to buy the seats...or any loan money left to buy the seats...or...
Will someone start thinking about what they are doing and saying before they expect me to just accept what they say!

can't we just get the temporary stand we used to have at the county ground - the old back of a truck with seats in.

Isn't there a scene in the 86/87 rising to the top video where the team are training and the lorry turns up with all the temporary seating on it and all the players fall about laughing?

I can see the "meccano stand mk II" appearing! That was a "temporary" structure built on old terracing at the County Ground.......temporary as in a good few years! Or what about Gillinghams "temporary" stand of green seating on the old away terrace? Thing is with those the stand hadn't been demolished, the access/fire escape routes were still in situ....Where are the fire escapes in the current shell of an East Stand? Straight out of the back into the building site? Oh and where are the turnstiles, toilets etc etc, like I said not an easy nor cheap job.

I'm going with option 2 because I am positive..... I guess that will make me a consortium lover and be hated by all and sundry?
Is it possible to truly love something which doesn't exist?

You know what, I am so glad I don't have the grim outlook shared by so many on here. You moaned about the revised plans, saying we should have stuck to the original ones, now you moan because the new owners want to take their time before producing a new and hopefully improved design with who knows maybe the increased capacity so many of you have been crying out for. Now you want it completed as it is now! Unbelievable.
I'm with Glenn, I consider this as in the best interests of the club and that includes us supporters.

Correctly stated the Chron report states that the would-be owners are "looking into" the idea of temporary seating so let's not get carried away. in any event, nothing is done yet and it seems we are many weeks away from completion of the sale. It may still not happen and then what?

The consortium is real. I'm one of the Cardozas' fiercest critics and sincerely hope this goes through. From what I have been told, we should view it positively. Judgement day for DC will come if the deal falls through.

Insider, are you still maintaining your previous line that somebody in the 'consortium' has a pre-existing link with NTFC?

I think that judgement day has already arrived for DC. Think of the expensive disaster of the redevelopment, rugby league (how much did that failure cost the club?), fans' village. I could go on but this serves no useful purpose. His time has to be up.
