Interesting but they are actually very vague comments. We could just end up with a finished East stand, an extra food stand and an expanded study centre.
Vague indeed. What I take from this, is we'll have the corners filled in, a 30,000 stadium with terracing for a singing section plus affordable Chinese food kiosks. Positive news indeed.

As well as the 2000 standing terracing on top of each of the North and South Stands?

Sounds pretty likely whichever way it's looked at. Good news.

wow, you really managed to completely miss the entire argument against prioritising massively expanding the stadium over improving off field revenue streams. That's pretty good going, there's only one other person that I've ever seen manage that as well.
Are you on a wind up? I've always advocated the priority to be the missing commercial revenue streams that have always hindered the club, alongside a considered expansion of capacity. This is quite obvious and hence suggested by the new investors. You can't find a single post of mine that suggests otherwise. From day one, this long, long bag of wind of a thread has been littered with the most utterly ridiculous comments of "we don't need seats". Have you ever said such a thing?

Do we really need permission to build safe standing ? I don't understand we do. We can just build it if the desire is there.

Queer eye for the Cobblers 🌈

Shocked to see some of our posters read the Daily Heil and the Daily Terriblegraph. I have agonised over safe standing, being a closet Liverpool supporter (big day for the famlies of the 96 today in fact). But I've come round I think, partly because of Hillsborough findings and partly due to a lot of reasearch. Just don't expect a return to the Hotel End and terraces in general. This will be a highly managed situation. If the advocates of safe standing are mainly inierested in recreating atmosphere at football matches then a more simple solution would undoubtedly be unreserved seating surely?

A safe bank of terracing so fans who wish can remain standing during the game can do so,Those who wish to sit can be seated. All ticketed and well stewarded areas avoiding over crowding in areas of standing is safe. Standing in seated areas forcing the old and infirm to stand is ##ntish behaviour that happens at most grounds. Safe well stewarded terracing needs to be introduced asap. Hillsborough lessons have been learnt, nothing was safe back then.

The safe standing area at Celtic is a good example of the benefits of safe standing. The atmosphere is banging as it is in all the safe standing areas I've been to. Having a bar in front of every row is actually pretty useful as you have something to lean on should you so wish.

I think the crowd "atmosphere" is good at Celtic in any event - something about being an entertaining and winning side I think. The same would be said about little old us if we were winning matches week in and week out and scoring plenty of goals.
I am not against safe standing but things may have changed for us this week and although KT is under-stating the position he may be looking up rather than planning to read water in L1. That would have an impact on the safe-standing issue although those in favour may well be optimistic that the all seater rules may change in a couple of years.

"Alongside". There's your problem. If there was only a set amount of money available then it is very difficult to do it "alongside" because the amount of money to do both isn't there. The evidence for this is that at no point ever have the club (under these owners at least) said anything like "We're also going to ramp up the capacity while we finish of the East Stand". That's what tells me it's always pretty much been a case of "this stand or that stand". With the unfinished "this stand" being the East and "that stand" being any of the others. Never got the impression there was a "both stands" option.

Lets just hope then lightning doesn't strike twice and this deal is the real deal and actually going to take the club forward on and off the field! Sounds promising though doesn't it?

I've not been here for a while. I don't know if to be impressed this thread is still going or just be sad that there is still a need for it.

And we've gone from strength to strength attracting new owners and winning the league in the process. Best business the clubs done.

I agree, it's a shame we had to change chairmen otherwise we could be even higher
