We couldn't raise the money to save the club from administration, do you reckon the town will stump up for a new stand when in the minds of most the town has already paid for a stand that didn't get built?

To be fair Marquis, its slightly different when it packaged up as bonds vs charitble donation. I am not willing donate anything towards stadium expansion but i would be willing to move a portion of my investment portfolio away from other savings/bonds investments if there was a club bond that gave a semi competitive return

That's an additional option.

Precisely.
I Think some form of infrastructure bond would be a fantastic idea, the only thing for me would be the trust as part of the board, so no more secrets.

Lets say we get given £5m by some oligarch and he says you have to spend it either on ground or squad/management but not both. Which do you do?

The latter of course.

 Get back to L1
Stay there for more than 5 minutes whilst finishing the East
Get to the Championship
Then expand

Call me short sighted but seriously, no other business model is justifiable

Of course, you could spunk the whole lot on the ground now for Barrow to bring 27 fans to...

No brainer, fit out the east stand to an acceptable level and build a bank of terracing and sell the club hard.
That initial investment will pay dividends for many years to come in order to continually adding new players.
Also when we do make the step up, for once we'll be ready to compete there.

What the **** is your obsession with terracing...It's never going to be allowed back as court case this week went towards proving...As soon as we go up we'd have to knock the bloody thing down again..You really don't help yourself

But if you build a terrace of 3k it will always be full in Beds model.

Apparently every away fan up and down the country will be coming to Sixfields as it will be atmospheric.

TBF I've suggested the Mini-Bonds from Tifosy that have built stands and infrastructure at several clubs successfully.

https://www.tifosy.com/en/campaigns/standing-shoulder-to-shoulder-to-build-a-new-north-stand

I like that Stevenage model, but also understand Marquis's point about memories of the Cardoza fiasco.
Like Beds/Man04 says also, that anything along those lines must include the Trust in the decision making about where the money is spent, albeit guided by detailed business plans and not his normal fag packet figures.
At the end of the day unfortunately we are still waiting to see what KT's "ring fenced" 4 million is going to get for the club. I don't forsee any shenanigans going on, just frustration for the fans at the delay.

The obsession with terracing is ridiculous.

Yes it is better. Give it a f*cking rest though. A 3k bank of terracing is not going to miraculously solve all of our problems.

If anything you are concentrating on the wrong thing, the club needs to make money 24/7.

Explain "sell the club hard"

As an entertainment entity? Good luck with that

If I had control of Sixfields and needed year round income I would be building a casino.

Surely if it is money invested back into the club it will appear on the monies in line of the balance sheeet and the monies out line, therefore not showing on the final balance and not subject to tax as a profit, most probably a smart accountant would find some way to get a tax break on the investment.
Sing, only if you spend it in the same tax year, so forget accruing it over a number of years. If you find an accountant smart enough to defer that kind of cash please pm me his number and I’ll sort you out with a few quid?

Worst case scenario you build it peacemeal over the three years, or accrue materials over the years.
I'm sure that it could be built in phases ie. Foundations and groundworks one year, build in year two and fit out in year three. The main problem with this whole scenario is that you have a three year wait until you can start your ROI.

If I had control of Sixfields and needed year round income I would be building a casino.
I’d actually turn sixfields into a giant casino and forget about the football
I’d have a giant roulette wheel where the centre circle is and fill the west stand concourse with fruit machines.
Some of the west stand rooms could be used for poker and the east stand could be knocked down for extra car parking.

Imagine sitting in the west stand betting on roulette while watching a giant roulette wheel in the centre circle.
You could knock down the north stand and build a stage there for bands to play and have concerts/betting all in one.

It’s the future.
