Take it up with the Trust, MC, not me.  The Trust has its own website, twitter feed and facebook presence as you know full well.

But the fundamental point is that you had the opportunity to express your view and did not. Your argument has been shot down in flames.  The community aspect was and is being democratically handled. End of.

No itís not the end of. I didnít have the opportunity and since it has the tools you have highlighted it makes it all the more confusing that the opportunity wasnít given? If it is being run for the members then the democratic thing to do is to allow all members a reasonable opportunity to vote on courses of action? Unless you think itís reasonable I spend 44 hours on a plane to make my views count?

Come on MC, more correctly put you didn't take the opportunity and don't place the blame on anyone other than yourself.  You have as much access to the Trust's media platforms as anyone else.  But this is a distraction - you said the Trust was handling the community ownership aspect in an undemocratic manner and you have been proven to be wrong.  Accept it with good grace.

I canít, Iím still putting Sellotape around the doors to keep the virus out. On a separate note the season being extended means the clocks change and I get kick off at midnight for all remaining games. A rather irrelevant silver lining in the context of the current situation, but at this point in time itís all Iíve got?

Sorry VC I completely disagree and dispute Iíve been proved wrong? I think this might be moving towards impasse, what do you say?

So the Trust Board shouldn't do or say anything without a referendum of the membership? Is that what you are saying?

Yes indeed, Cordwainer2.

On which subject, just how often do our owners consult with its minority shareholders (who include the Trust1) on anything?

I say MC see again my post MC at 14:24:22.  That very adequately answers your assertions that the Trust Board is acting undemocratically.  I reacted because what you claimed was groundless.

But, look, we enjoy a good banter and we won't fall out about it. i enjoy our exchanges which, whatever our differing points of view, are a case of each of us saying it as we see it. This is a board for opinions after all.  At the end of the day we have this in common - our commitment to the Cobblers.

No, the original point many moons ago was the trust was trying to establish the feasibility of community ownership. Perhaps it would have been an idea to canvas the entire membership to establish the true enthusiasm for the concept and perhaps ask some other relevant questions such as would you be willing to purchase a shareholding, and by how much? By way of an answer I believe it is perhaps the best way forward, yes and a couple of grand. I then suggested that it was a source of frustration for me that the trust wasnít being more proactive with the membership and instigating more input. I conceded at the time I was guilty of not making an effort to engage myself, but the point was the Trust appears to be struggling a little bit with membership and the launch of the forum demonstrated they were trying to address this. I thought it a nice and simple solution that was really made with the best intentions by someone who happens to be fond of the trust. However, it has not gone as well as I had hoped?

Thereís some toys gone out of the pram on here. I think the current climate is taking its toll on some peopleís sense of proportion.

Cue a huge post that in no way derives from the views of Trust, but just happens to be incredibly similar....  Grin Grin

How about practicing what you preach Nigel, to quote your post a couple of days ago,
"As I said. It's time for people to grow up, and stop trying to score petty points..."

Well, that says it all.  Deaf, dumb and blind to all important matters of ownership. Enjoy your coffee.

It's not a subject to which I attach importance, your definition of importance obviously doesn't have a very high threshold in your life.
Therefore I have no need to ask questions like you, to an ether that is never going to answer.

I was just trying to assist you by pointing you in the direction of where you could achieve an answer to your questions.
I wasn't intending to join in the discussion on the technicalities of the Redev and I think that I just about got away with it.  Wink
