No doubt, this will be all the fault of KT and DB! So what is the Trust boards next move in this sorry saga.

Just back to shouting from the sidelines and pretending none of this ACV stuff happened I'd imagine. Some will probably be pinning their hopes on Cilldara getting the land. Change is coming though so hopefully a new inclusive direction is coming.

I had a very interesting conversation with someone last night. Met up with some friends to have a few beers and watch the game on iFollow. To give some background one of the guys there is a local businessman who it feels like knows everyone in Northampton. Mainly due to how bad the actual match was we had some lengthy dicussions around the whole Trust/Club situation. Certainly seems like not everyone has remained as tight lipped as some would have liked.
He mentioned names in the discussion that I won't share but he told us who the Trust is partnering with, what the deal is and a whole load more about what is going on and the motivation behind it all.
I was told the backers are a local development company that will be presented publicly as business and football people. In reality they are simply a company backed financially by an organisation we are all very well aware of. The commercial confidentiality is simply a method of avoiding a tricky public conversation should people look deeper before the deal is done. The optics of it look bad which everyone is well aware of and ways of presenting it have been discussed hence the local dev company. If the bid fails then they would never need to disclose the full information anyway.
The deal is that the Trust get the Freehold to the ACV Running Track Land and the dev company get the development land. It's being seen as a seperate side option to get the dev land should the JR fail. The Trust are not contributing financially to the deal.
What was made clear is that the current Trust Board and advisors 100% don't believe the clubs owners will ever complete the stand and will 100% leave the club once they get paid. For some involved, mainly advisors not elected board members it's all about getting rid of the owners no matter what.
They are trying to engineer a situation where the dev land goes elsewhere through this deal or the JR sees the process reopened and it goes elsewhere, which will leave the club owners without any land, destabalising the club and ultimately it's ownership. The thinking being that the Trust can ride in on their horse, saving the day with their own backer (not the dev company but someone else) and the owners be shown for being what they always said they were. The thinking is the club debts are to the owners which they will simply have no choice but to write off and that the price of sale of the club will drop significantly as they need to cut their losses and move on.
The reason so many people have walked away from the situation in recent months is that this, for them, was always about forcing the owners to deliver what they always said they were going to, not about removing them and potentially damaging the club. A lot of them have grave concerns about the risk of destabalising the club to achieve this aim and the possible consequences that could mean. They also believe that publicly this could backfire on the Trust big time and don't want to be there if and when it does.
Remember this? ? Word for word isn't it.

Even the basket case that is Scutnorpe (sic) managed to find new owners last week...... there's hope for everyone!! Gillingham and Colchester in our league too.
Bury were the exception rather than the norm.
Depends on the condition of purchase though Simon. Apparently ours is spend 3 million on the stand. Including operating costs that’s a 4 million bill in the first year before you start. Or are we dropping finishing the stand now?

After seeing the Wrexham story I think we should make a pitch to get Ironman. That Downey Jnr is a nutter with deep pockets.
Ryan'l and Rob's advisors had a shortlist of a few clubs they were looking to invest in... I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have dwelt too long when they saw our situation and recent history

Rarely can a post be taken seriously on here, if proof is provided by the ever reliable source known as Wiki. Evers fell foul of this a few times. If you think I use Wiki to source info on a chosen interest you are very much mistaken!

Cildara. Of course it was them and the trust are surprised that land developers have acted unscrupulously? What did they think might happen once the deal had gone through?

Thats exactly the point.
They enter an agreement with a construction company who openly admit they have no interest in the Football Club. The deal I assume is contingent that they win with their bid for the development land. If they are succesful they will break the long term lease held by the club for the land behind the stand thereby facilitating access to the Development land.
So the club ends up with no development land, a broken lease for land oqnded by the trust but effectively under control of the construction company. I assume that the Trust had plans and arrangements in place and some necessary security but they have chosen never to reveal these.Surprise surprise Cilldara impose onerous conditions that not even this Trust can accept. They have been turned over. In the meantime the viper is now in the nest.
Is it anyone that not one of the Board can be trusted.

And yet they still went under despite the stadium, that nailed the coffin shut on that old chestnut then.
You missed the bit where I said they are a small club in an area saturated by massive clubs. We're not, 300,000 folk living within 10 miles of Sixfields but play in an non league ground, drawing less that 2% of its catchment, by some way the smallest in the football league. Don't make excuses for cdnl...

Truth hurts does it, lets keep Northampton Down - is that your motto perhaps you can start... " we are staying down say we are staying down" God forbid some fans want and think we could and should be doing better (now wait for R&D, Darlington, Bury etc for examples of why we should be grateful) Lets ignore all the other far more successful clubs than ours and lets ignore the FACT that over 7000 fans went to MK in the FA Cup, even though not all of those 7000 would have even got a ticket for the Chelsea game - you could not make it up Yeah certainly a club not worth developing All together now, "we love MEDIOCRITY we do, oh MEDIOCRITY we love you"

With all respect Derek this view should be accompanied with how this upward drive is financed. Over on the other thread Worthless is crucifying the owners for being 7 million in debt. It just seems like a list of demands with no clear path to achievement, often with huge contradictions between those who are most critical.

Truth!!! You are making yourself look as big a clown as him. And it might do your reputation good if you would answer the myriad of questions that have been put you, but we all know you wont, you'll just come up with bullshít and insults to other fans.
