It matters in the longevity and security of the club. Unless of course the owners have a bottomless pit of resources and get kicks out of losing money.
Well fair enough it does in this context, I was thinking more in an exit strategy scenario.

So how do accommodate the 3000 ipswich Derby ans several other clubs who could easily sell an extra one or 2 thousand more tickets than the 1200 they would receive.. Also what about the new supporters attracted to a team flying high in L1 and being locked out of the more attractive games?
Both Cardoza and Thomas have tried and failed to buck the trend of trying to be competitive in L1 when we lose so much gate and othet match day takings.
We should contra charge thomas for the vast sums we lose being mothballed in L2.
As for the judicial review, it's my belief that if the greedy CDNL should get gifted the 22 acres for a pittance NTFC and its future will be seriously hampered by their pathetic latest plans..
We need a reset so to open the eyes of our Dopey councillors and that of some fans getting completely swayed into believing the awful plans will actually help our club, it won't.
Once ownership of the land is settled some modest upgrades to the stadium and amenities could be considered. This delaying factor currently encountered does not help the Club or Fan base. First get a decent side established in League One.

Did anyone notice we’ve got the same judge who did the Wagatha Christie trial. At least she’ll be well versed in dealing with important, hard hitting issues. Regardless of the result I can’t see them being in a position to do anything this close season, so this thread has a good couple of thousand pages left in it.

And the usual business gurus and economic geniuses are still remarkably quiet, their veritable model of how to run a football club is crumbling and they've nothing to say.

How many months before the Judicial Review is decided?

And likewise the Cobblers ever getting anything good is even rarer... Let's assume the very worst case scenario and it won't be far from that. The council gifts cdnl all of the 23 acres including the entire running track to become a warehouse carpark, hemming in the tiny stadium making it look even more ridiculous and inadequate.. Can we dare hope for 10 corporate boxes fitted into a tiny rusting stand as it is the least CDNL can afford our club after mothballing it for 20 years.. And that's your lot... Best case would be if we somehow got the council to understand the urgent needs of our football club and demand a better outcome that the crap on offer? It's not over until the fat judge sings...

I take it the possibility of promotion and the pending massive game against Stevenage facilitated by the depth of squad the playing budget has delivered won't take the edge off then Dave?

I wish the Cobblers all the very best against Stevenage, Jon has been one of the very best managers I've seen at Sixfields. But... What an awful thought of him being hounded out after a few l1 defeats due to being unable to compete because our small budget makes us unable to maximise earnings potential due to our tiny antiquated ground.. It's a vicious circle we can't or even try escape.. I can't even bother going despite the offer of a free ticket as we all know the exceptional work by Jon and his players will be wasted as relegation is almost a certainty in the first or 2nd L1 season.. But the same folk who hounded out all the other managers will, as sure as eggs are eggs, turn on Jon, if he is still here, demanding 'why can't we compete at L1 level' as posh /Oxford/ MK give us another footballing lesson.. Secretly they know why and are in many ways to blame for not standing up for and protecting the long term interests of NTFC over that of land speculators only here to aquire 23 acres for their pension pots. 10 boxes in a tiny rusting stand, on it's own Is not going to advance our club out of L2 and help us to retain L1 status allowing us to challenge at that level..

If you can't be bothered to take up a free ticket to watch a promotion clash, it begs the question why you are taking time out of your lift to comment on here.

But all of those clubs have sacked their manager because they weren't competitive in League 1.

Managers get sacked, expectations are high amongst the better equipped more progressive clubs.. Unlike us, we just sack our L1 mangers because despite trading with a small budgets, the owners have to appease the restless supporters to stop questions being asked of the speculators..

The club represents the town of Northampton, so should be looked after by the council.. CDNL have done nothing for the community but are being gifted 23 acres worth £20,000,000 because they hold the golden ticket at ntfc! If ntfc don't get a fair share, some councillors will face some very tough questions.. That cllr Brown showed the hight of ignorance when spouting from cdnl manifesto, it shows exactly why ntfc's struggles continues.

I'm kind of confused on what you want and what's realistic - I guess we can take it as read you want the JR to find against WNC so CDNL don't automatically get the land - but what next when the whole bidding process starts again? I only see 3 outcomes 1) CDNL get the land - but at a higher price so any benefit to the football club is likely to be even less than currently muted. 2) Cildara get the land (but as illustrated by the fall out with the trust) clear they don't give a flying f*** about the football club so the entire 23 acres gets covered with warehouses and the club get nothing. 3) A mysterious bidder appears (apparently they are plenty of those waiting in the wings) and pays a price fair to the good council tax payers of the Northampton and than develops the land in a suitable manner that serves both the community needs of the town and makes sufficient profit to fund infrastructure improvements to the ground and of course continue to bankroll the football club. I'd love scenario 3 but it isn't going to happen and secondly the council are not going to put any stipulations into a contract that benefits the club at the overall expense of the council tax payer after the shenanigans of the last 9 years - and whilst you will continue your attacks on CDNL the real villain on this whole sorry affair is the previous owner, the substandard design of the East Stand and the missing £10 million.
